This is the first book I got on the Rasberry Pi and there have been many more written since then. The second edition is now out which I assume clears up any printing errors and updates the software installation which has changes with the New Out Of the Box (Noobs) installation. There is a useful section on troubleshooting problems you may have with key board and mouse and networking. Sections on using the Pi as a media centre or web server. The usual programing and hacking sections, GPIO ports and add on boards which are almost as numerous as the books on the Pi.

There are some great ideas in this book and a useful learning aid if you want to get familiar with basic mechanics using Lego. Basicaly its a picture book showing you finished models so you have to use your head as to the how the bricks are put together but thats half the fun and a good way to learn. Best bought as a hard copy, this will not read on older Kindles but you can read it on the Kindle app on your PC.

Clear and concise writting and a good introdution to writting structured programs; plenty of illustrations but you will need either the hard copy book or a colour Kindle to see these clearly.

I got this for my KIndle so that I could work on the Raspberry and follow instructions which are very clear and easy to read. LIke most books on the pie there is there are are start up instructions, programming in Python and Scratch; but the best parts are interfacing the pie with the Arduino, using inputs and outputs, attaching web cams, setting up a web server ect. If you have a black and white Kindle think about reading this book on your PC or get the hard copy as screen shots are not very clear on older Kindles.
