5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic but you need a good graphics card, 6 Dec. 2011
We bought this for a PC. It is Dell desktop about 4 years old (64 x 2 dual core processor 4200+ 2.20GHZ 2.0gb ram memory)

it wouldn't play! So i bought a new graphics card from PC world for 24.99 fitted it myself (so easy and I am a mummy not a computer techie). It is a fabulous game for my 7 year old great to look at..
only downside is that we have all 16 released characters at present and in the space of 6/7 weeks threee have gone faulty. My son is very careful with toys so they have't been misused but the techie at Toys r us said there is a computer chip in them which is not very robust.

One I returned to Toys r us and the others have been replaced by the excellent warranty service on the activision website. They only allow one replacement in 30 days which is why one went to TRUS.
But delighted with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unputdowanable!, 17 May 2011
I too picked this up for an Oxford connection but was soon hooked.Other reviewers can say it it Twlight-light etc are wrong. I really enjoyed this for the opposite reasons; yes there are vampires running about but this isn't just about vampires more about witch craft but if you like a good dose of history and explanations about everything from the Knights Templars to Alchemy then you will enjoy it. I finished all 400+ pages in a flash and started reading it again right away. last book that did that for me was Wolf Hall. Fabulous loved every page.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another fantastic instalment, 5 Mar. 2011
We buy all the Dino cove books as soon as they come out (the next three are on pre-order) my 6yo absoultely loves them and unlike the astrosuars series (also a huge fave) they are easy to read and he is starting to do quite a bit himself.
This one is really good covering the boys' last trip to the Triassic and they encounter a Tsunami. Terrific stuff. just wish Rex Stone would write them quicker.

5.0 out of 5 stars The same format but great fun, 12 Oct. 2009
If you have the other Captaim Flinn books this won't disappoint. Same thing they fall through a door/cupboard and find themselves on an old pirate ship and have an adventure with not just pirates but "PIRATE DINOSAURS". I think kids like the formulaic theme: they know what to expect and enjoy the new story. My son loves it when Flinn calls the Trex a great big fatso.! Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it. So like the film!, 15 July 2009
I took my 4.5 year old to see this at the cinema and the rental game arrived soon after. It is just fantastic. Absolutely gorgeous to look at and really like the movie visually. Fantastic intuitive controls and really easy to pick up. Very funny and good progression and nice stories. one of the best games for small children we have tried. So very different from previous Ice Age games on wii which were pretty dire.

We sent it back only when we had bought our own copy.

Ps one tip... you don't save your game yourself as you go along and it was worrying turning it off and wondering what was going on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant game for kids,, 27 Mar. 2009
This a great game for dinosaur or Diego fans. It is really easy to follow, the controls for wii are great and there is a good story and clear instructions all the way through. My little boy is nearly 4 1/2 and he mastered it right away. it is great fun to watch as the child has to do jumping, stamping (to frighten off the T-rex!) and digging and even swimming actions whilst holding the wii remote. It is great exercise and really enjoyable for the child and anyone watching. highly recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful. Do not get for little ones, 21 Feb. 2009
This review is from: SimAnimals (Wii) (Video Game)
I got this because it is heavily advertised on TV for little kids; it has a cert 3 with a cute fox and bear.

The controls are fine but the content is awful.

Apart from being slow and boring, it allows (encourages?) little kids to pick up a cat say by the scruff of its' neck and throw it yowling into the lake. Nice. Also if a predatory animal kills a smaller one a picture of that animal and a gravestone comes up.

I'm not a bleeing heart animal lover by any means but it is a mindless, pointless game with no educational content and not much fun. Luckily we rented it, so it went back after a few hours.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant for young children and everyone else., 18 Feb. 2009
This review is from: Endless Ocean (Wii) (Video Game)
If like me you have a pre-schooler you must be tired of Wii games that involving blasting the world down. This is the complete antithesis of this. It is endlessly fascinating and you learn so much about the creatures in the sea too. Easy controls for little ones and so peaceful and gorgeous to watch. It is addictive. Brilliant. can be bought for only £15 and the best game we have purchased.
