5.0 out of 5 stars A landscape photographers medium zoom., 9 Jan. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is for the Canon EF 70-200 f/4 L IS USM. Note that the image amazon have supplied for this version of the lens is the incorrect image. Don't panic though, the correct lens will arrive.

Superbly sharp throughout the zoom and aperture range. The image stabilisation is a godsend with these focal lengths, enabling sharp shooting down to a very slow shutter speed like 1/30. Built like a tank so should easily survive being out in weather like we have seen in the UK recently with no issues at all. Very smooth zoom ring that can be operated with one finger if required. The perfect medium zoom for landscape photographers as it isn't too big or heavy. If you are only going to be using it for landscape photography and will therefore often be stopped down to f/8 to f/16, then save your money on the f/2.8 and go for this guy.

Not really the same colour as the lens but it appears to be built well for the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top notch tripod., 5 Jan. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I think this may be the perfect tripod. Light but not so light that a gust of wind would knock it over. Twist lock legs for ease of setup. Very versitile legs and centre column. Can go quite high but also very low. Built like a tank as you would expect from Manfrotto. You will not be disappointed.

Crapped itself after after a couple of months for no obvious reason so I got Amazon to replace it with the newer, Mark II version. Interesting that they still sell both though... :-/

5.0 out of 5 stars A great and more reasonably priced alternative for the Canon equivalent, 22 Jun. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A great and more reasonably priced alternative for the Canon equivalent. However, you will also need a lens band in between it and the lens as it is slightly too big. I would recommend this anyway as it will also provide extra scratch protection.

This is a fantastic lens. Pin sharp with a smooth and creamy bokeh. The IS system is very effective but you will still need a tripod if you are focusing down to 1:1 or thereabouts. Use the focus limiters as you will find it tends to hunt quite a lot if you are not in the right range. The biggest thing you need to know about this lens it to make sure the IS system has stopped running and is "parked" before you remove it from the lens. I have not done this a couple of times in haste and it leaves the inner element in a free state, rather than being locked safely in place, rattling around inside the body, which can be a bit scary initially and could cause damage over time if not addressed. However, the two times I have had this happen, it has not caused any damage whatsoever and the lens is still in perfect condition and functionality. Well worth every penny of the price. It is a bargain in my mind and is rarely off my camera. I also use it as a general walk-about lens for landscapes and portraits etc. However, it is, as I said, pin sharp and can show up details that you might not want to see! ;-)

This is a really lovey album. A superb follow up to his previous 2 studio albums. Fans of those will not be disappointed one bit. This album pulls the heartstrings just the right amount without being overly cheesy. A great chilled out evening listen. Two thumbs up! :-)

4.0 out of 5 stars Departure indeed!, 11 May 2014

This review is from: Supernova [VINYL] (Vinyl)
As the others have mentioned, this is somewhat of a departure for Ray. It's a little cheesy actually but not in a bad way. For the most part, it is a collection of jolly songs with a little bit of a rock edge to them strangely. Psychedelic, not sure, but I see what they are getting at. He certainly seems to be a lot cheerier these days when compared to the very melancholy Till the Sun Turns Black, which happens to be my favourite of his albums. I would say, give it a go. It is different but it is starting to grow on me. Side B is more successful but it is still a solid album overall. Not to everyone's tastes though I would think.

5.0 out of 5 stars A little small., 9 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I really liked this bag but have sold it on already due to it being just too small. Being advertised as having a laptop compartment is a little cheeky as it only really fits a MacBook Air or iPad or similar and most certainly not my MacBook Pro 13". I know it says this in the description, but still. Otherwise, it is a well made bag that will suit anyone with a DSLR like a Canon 1100D or similar and a small notebook computer or tablet.

This is a very well made filter that is easy to fit and use. It has yielded some really great results so far for me. Great contrasting skies and clear detail at distance for landscape shots. Using it on my Canon EF-S 10-22mm lens.
