1.0 out of 5 stars Dont bother!, 26 Dec 2010
If you are buying this for kindle its not worth it! Empty pages are annoying for kids, the pictures are dull and having a blue penguin isn't much use in black and white. The text is too trite even for a two year old and there is no story. The only good bit is the author acknowledgements which are hilarious for the overblown sincerity and length, surely only included as a means of doubling the word count!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely!, 28 Sep 2010
This review is from: Bye Bye Baby (Paperback)
Another lovely book from the Ahlbergs, now sadly unavailable new. I should think its a nice book for all kids personally but for adopted children its fantastic, especially when they have come from backgrounds where they were neglected and uncared for or abandoned at birth. This is a gentle funny way of saying that actually babies or toddlers can't look after themselves, its not their fault, and that they really do need a nice loving family around them to allow them just to be children.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor, 12 Aug 2010
This review is from: Automatic Night light
I bought one of these last week and it didn't work with the bulb supplied although nothing seemed to be wrong on visual inspection. With the second supplied bulb it came on for about 10 seconds and then never worked again. As it is a moulded plastic unit you cannot take apart to find any loose connections. A waste of money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Crazy and Imaginative, 28 April 2009
This review is from: The Gone-Away World (Paperback)
i picked this book up on the offchance and now i'm so glad i did! I wasn't expecting much as the mention of 'Ninjas' would normally be enough for me to back off a mile but i found the whole book really imaginative, and was moved, amused and chilled in turn. I even liked the Ninja bits! I sometimes worry that i have read all the crazy books I'm going to ever like already and then a little gem like this comes along by a brand new author and makes me very happy!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best present I ever got...., 15 May 2005
This little machine is now my constant companion and it draws attention wherever it goes, especially from extremely jealous ipod users. Quality of everything about it is excellent except the manual and website which are hopeless! HOWEVER log onto the misticriver website for iriver fans instead & you can find newbie or techie answers to any questions you might have plus lots of stuff on skinning, themeing, video/dvd downloading etc.
I have 1000 songs, loads of photos, some video, word documents, cubase files inc audio tracks, software programmes, radio recordings and some recordings of my band rehearsals on my iriver H-320 and i've still got over half the memory left, its FANTASTIC! I find it hard to beleive anyone bothers with ipods anymore but am quite happy that they do cos its such fun watching peoples mouths fall open in amazement when they ask for a demonstration of this fab little gadget.

3.0 out of 5 stars Warning!, 12 July 2003
This particular book is the ABRIDGED edition! This is fine if you are happy to read the 'lite' version as seen in the musical show. If you want to read the more complex and fascinating book that Hugo actually wrote make sure you are getting the whole thing!
