5.0 out of 5 stars Claustrophobic, 11 May 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Son of Saul (Amazon Video)
An extraordinary work of art. This is a film that seeps into your conscience and stays with you for days, and it happens without you realising it. It's hard to escape the claustrophobic feeling that it gives you, and though no art form can truly replicate the unique horror that was the Sonderkommando (I imagine) this unsettling and important film is essential and vital viewing. Should be shown in schools everywhere.

Fittingly this biography about the greatest cyclist of them all is the the greatest book about cycling I've read. Truly awe-inspiring.

1.0 out of 5 stars why?, 9 Aug. 2006
why would anyone want to read this? why? the young mans ego is so huge, it didnt come as a suprise when he decided to 'write' an autobiography. He has done nothing of any real note, apart from betray the club that gave him the chance of fufilling his dream. Mr Cole typifies everything that is wrong with football in this country.

If you want to read an autobiography, read Mandela's Long Walk To Freedom. At least he has done something to be proud of.

5.0 out of 5 stars Legendary, 3 Mar. 2006
Steve Mcqueen is a legend, and the coolest actor of all time. This boxset takes us through his career starting with Never So Few and ending with Tom Horn.
Bullitt is the highlight of this boxset, it is one of his best films. The Cincinnati Kid is also a great film but that cannot be said of the others. To be honest, the only reason to watch Getaway and Never So Few is for Steve Mcqueen. He made average films look better than they actually were. Steve Mcqueen made far better films than there were in this boxset, I feel some poor choices were made here. Where is The Magnificent Seven, Hell is for Heroes, The Sand Pebbles, or The Great Escape???
But, I gave it 5 stars because this man is a legend and one of the greatest actors of all time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Didn't have a clue who these guys were, 14 Feb. 2006
This review is from: Nice And Nicely Done (Audio CD)
I randomly bought this album - and it is a right cracker. There are six members in the band, and some are as young as 19. Their sound is quirky and catchy, you cannot resist the upbeat 'bubblyness' of the album. Every song is great but the high points on the album are 'Oh Mandy', 'Late', 'Trust vs Mistrust' and 'So Kind, Stacy'. I don't know who to compare them to, but they remind me of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah for some reason.

4.0 out of 5 stars :plastic: BSS fan, 14 Feb. 2006
This review is from: Broken Social Scene (Audio CD)
This was the first Broken Social Scene album that I have listened to. I bought it after reading one review, and didn't really know what to expect. Well, I'm glad I did, because this is a very good album, with some beautiful songs. I would love to see these guys live - I strongly recommend this album.
