so it's really great to see this album getting a full release into the physical world. Eliza Lumley's voice is sublime and the interpretations of the Radiohead songs are at first unusual, but quickly and very obviously, very fitting indeed. Marvellous.

5.0 out of 5 stars Probably the best album ever recorded., 19 Jun 2000
Utterly one of the greatest recording ever made. Harriet Wheeler's voice is sublime and the songs are the perfect tools to display it. One of the very few perfect albums where every single song fits in together and nothing at all seems out of place. As fresh and beautiful as it was when it was released 11 years ago in 1989 (that makes me feel old). Pure and simple one of the most beautiful recordings in existence.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mad prose poetry to make you laugh and laugh, 19 Jun 2000
One of the most perfect things in existence. Pure poetry read by the perfect voice. Extremely funny, but also beautifully written prose as well. With surreal lines such as "his face was a crumpled tissue on which a lobster might well have wiped it's bottom," you kind of get the idea. I grew up with this album and have spent my life bemusing people quoting from it. "I don't know what I want, but I want it now!" "Do you know what a palmist once said to me? She said WILL YOU LET GO!" Rawlinson End exists in it's own wonderfully preserved corner of British eccentricity and I would recommend anyone to listen to it. It will enrich your life I promise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Obscenely quotable. Literally., 10 Jan 2000

One of the funniest key moments of my childhood. You could almost say these guys were never better than when they were drunk and improvising. "You'll bloody pay for these trousers." Genius at work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome to the world of the deliciously off-kilter., 16 Nov 1999
Amiable. Affable. Laughable. Why the hell did he do it? Well why not? One of the most oddly inspirational books you are ever likely to read. Gives you a very warm feeling about human nature, and also gives a mad man free reign to write about a very weird month indeed. Forget "Morris Minor and the Majors" and "The Stutter Rap", all is very much forgiven.
