I generally don't like to bash authors because it must be like presenting your new born to the world and hoping that, no matter how ugly, people will love it as much as you do!!!! As others have commented, it's J R Ward but with dragons! The phraseology is the same, warriors, males, females and when its not a direct copy it alludes to it, i.e. needing - hungering, blood - energy. Whilst it's the females that go through their needing, it's the males that feel the biological urge, twice yearly (lucky females ;)). It has a charming butler type person who seems to be everywhere and two opposing forces the goodies and the baddies.
The author has tried to write in the same type of snappy, tight wording that works so successfully for J R Ward but unfortunately it just makes you think - of J R Ward! Probably not what the author intended but that's what's happened. That said, its not a bad read and I will continue with the series but I do keep expecting the Brotherhood to knock on the door and borrow a cup of sugar!
Please be aware this is not 'original' as it definitely has its inspiration through other authors so, whilst I can't give her 5 stars for originality, I can give her 3 as her baby is not that ugly! Fury of Fire (Dragonfury Series #1)
