5.0 out of 5 stars the best and saddest series, 4 Jan. 2012
Due to the death of Elizabeth Sladen, this is the final series. It is only 3 episodes long, and unlike the past series there has been little Doctor who references (as opposed to in the past where the brigadier and doctor guest starred or they fight the slitheen) other than that there is very no complaints about this series
Sky introduces a new character, an alien child named sky, who Sarah Jane adopts. She is used to bring back the child factor, as the original children are grown up by now, and it is a children's program. The episode sky is quite childish, but otherwise good, and I was a little concerned that it would go back to the childish show it was in series 2.
Episode 2 is the curse of Clyde Langer. This is the most emotional and grown up episode of the entire series, and it is sad and lets us see the best side of Clyde, the man he has become that is usually hidden by the cocky cheeky boy. Clyde, a character we have come to love and care for since pretty much the beginning, has been cursed so whenever anyone hears or says or even thinks his name, they see him as the worst person on the world and shun him like he is a monster. Sarah Jane, rani and even his mum shun him in an emotional opening episode. In part 2, we see Clyde getting by as homeless person and falling in love, we see him managing at rock bottom. The ending is a little bit simple, but managed brilliantly, and the story as a whole is possibly the best Sarah Jane episode ever.
The final episode is the man that never was. This is a pretty good episode, but the worst of the 3. It is full of funny scenes, but the plotline is not great, the motive behind the villain's actions is one we have seen dozens of times before over the 3 whoniverse series', and it is a very childish episode. But on the upside, we see Luke and sky meeting in the flesh, and the dynamic between them is a good one. They ended it with a montage of clips and the same speech Sarah Jane says at the end of series one, and end it with the brilliant line "And the story goes on... forever." I feel this was the best way to end the series.
As a whole the series is the best series to reach out to such a range of people, and if this is where the series was heading, I wish there would have been more

2.0 out of 5 stars i suppose it is good, but a HUGE dissapointment, 12 Dec. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Eragon (2 disc) [DVD] (DVD)
i am a MASSIVE fan of the books. in my oppinon they are the best books ever. but this film does not reflect the books. it is a mockery that it is associated with the book. there are so mny errors, stupid thing, and it is not just unlike the book, it has gone so far off the track that to make and "eldest" film is impossibe. there are no mention of essentiol facts and charectors and i spend the entire film screaming at the TV. Add on to that that the elterations to the plot means it makes no sence and you have a film i HATE
so why then, have i put on 2 stars if i hate it so much? why not one? because to someone who has NOT read the books, it isnt that bad. my sister used to love it before i forced her to read the books. also, because this movie could be a portal to the books, you see the not bad film and then you read the brilliant book. but i would prefer to give it no star, to be honest

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC series, 5 Dec. 2011
This review is from: The Kevin Bishop Show [DVD] (DVD)
If you like comedy... if you like sketch shows... if you like a laugh a minute show... you will LOVE this series
this show is a hilarious sketch show and takes the mick out of all things to do with TV, weather doing their own versions (like countdown and big brother) or making up shows that could exist (like celebrity siblings) and taking the mick. I couldn't stop laughing.
If you don't like the sound of it yet, you get to see Karen Gillian wearing nearly nothing on multiple occasions... you can't complain about that sight.
I have to admit the humour is a bit simple, but if you like the sort of comedy you see on little Britain or family guy, this is your next favourite show.
Brilliant acting, brilliant cast, brilliant jokes, brilliant show

no jonny, no louise, no janet, no wesley, no corintian, no good! only gaz and donna are here, and gaz is in a wheelchair, which is a daft plot and terrible. terrible series with only 2 or 3 good moments. if you like 2 pints... DO NOT WATCH!

1.0 out of 5 stars it met my expectation, 15 Sept. 2011
This review is from: Scrubs - Season 9 [DVD] (DVD)
first, i should mention i LOVED series 1-8 of scrubs. it was fantastic. but then JD left, and i had my doubts about this series. the only hope for the series was the strong team of cox and turk, held together by the legendery carla and a lot of elliot, and of cpurse, the janitor!. but that wasnt meant to be.
instead of a hospital, sacred heart is now a medical school that happens to treat patients. so instead of "newbie" we now have the NOOB'S. and the lead? they tried to base her charector on JD... but the point is JD is too girly for a guy.
but there is still carla... no sorry, NO apperances from carla... she is mentioned once, and that just makes it sound like she is still around. but nothing!
elliot is in a few episodes, now pregnant, and not very good. JD is in the first few episodes, despite the end of series 8 being all about him leaving, and after he leaves AGAIN, he just happens to be around the hospital with no explenation. the few daydreams are terrible, and possibly the bst parts of the first 8 series's, dr cox's rants, are hardly used.
oh and the janitor, after he and JD have the niceish scene in "my finale", he goes crazy the next day, as JD is gone... WHAT THE HELL?
i expected it to be bad and it was. i laughed once in the entire series (there is ONE good dr cox rant, which results in him yelling "nothing" in the hospital intercom) other than than, a waste of time and money

5.0 out of 5 stars did i say the first 2 series were epic?, 13 May 2011
ok, i havent got thew DVD's yet, but i watched it on bbc.
i felt that series 1 and 2 were amaving, ending on the cliffhanger of herricks return and annie "passing on". i had very high expectations for this series
they were exceeded.
the first episode is amazing. mitchell goes into pergatory to rescue annie, where one of the victim of the box tunnel 20 guides him. she also gives a profecy that a warewolf or a "wolf shaped bullet" would kill him.
as the series goes on, we learn of the "old ones", a more powerful group of vanpires and a father and son who are werewolves, and become reccuring charectors.
nina becomes a main charectr, as she falls pregnant, and everyone is concerned as to what the baby will be.
also as michel and annie get into a relationship, the incident on the box tunnell 20 is getting investigated and followed back to mitchell, who the vampires are admiring for the act. when nina find out michell is responsibe, she reports him to the police, but is mitche gets arrested, he wont apeer on photos and the entire world of vampires, werewolves and ghosts will be reveiled
the final episodes are epic, and after eveything is over, in a spectacular ending 2-parter, the others are against michell, who comes back with a terrible request. a VERY emotional ending. you WILL be at the edge of your seat, you WILL be shocked and you WILL cry

5.0 out of 5 stars epic series, 13 May 2011
ok, i havent got thew DVD's yet, but i watched it on bbc.
so it starts a little slow, with the first episode focusing on the current state of the vampires. the second being about the ins and outs of werewolves and the 3rd buing about the ins and out of being a ghost.
BUT once you get to episode 4, it gets interesting. as the nearby humans turn on them, mitcell is forced to turn back to the vampire way, while annie tries to figure out who killed her, and "pass on" with a huge twist and george struggling to come to terms with his condition while trying to protect mitchell from the vampires (and himself) and start a relationship with nina.
in series 2, while mitchell takes over the group of vampires, george tries to control the wolf, with terrible consiquences and annie tries to decide if she wants to live or pass on, a religious group are killing vampires, trying to "cure" being a warewolf and forcing ghosts to pass on, will all 3 of the group stay alive, and when action force mitchel to turn darker than he has ever been before, can he be saved?
it is funny, action packed and interesting with both series's having an epic finale, this is one of the greatest series's on TV, and in my opinion the BEST tv show, film , series ANYTHING to do with vampires, werewolves and ghosts

3.0 out of 5 stars a fantastic season, ruined by its past, 1 Nov. 2010
This review is from: Heroes Season 4 [DVD] (DVD)
standalone, this season is fantastic. it has everything a sci-fi fan wants, and i think the on its own, its almost as good as series 1.
the problem it that they are recovering from the disasterous series 2. series 2 was quite bad, and series 3 tried to fix the mistake by building on it. the writers apparently decided to just skip the effects of series 2 and 3, and go back to basics
it all starts with the old heroes trying to go back to their past lives, but it just dosent pull it off. most of the heroes have accepted their powers, but here, it is a huge step back. last time you checked, many of them wanted to become super heroes, and help, but here, they just use their abilities as little as they can. it is too inconsistent to be good
at the end of last series matt wiped sylars memory and made him think he iis nathen. it makes sence that sylar is fighting to re-emerge in his/nathens body. what doesnt make sence... is that slyar is now in matt's head, that makes no sence. and of course sylar, what can i say about sylar. when he gets back to his body he has an evil spree, nearly killing peter, and then he has a soft touch and wants to become good. that is an amazing idea, and it is done brilliantly... but sylar flipped sides more than a pancake is series 3, so it loses that effect.
the series has been canceled now, which is a shame. i feel that "redemption" was a very good title for this series, as it began to recover, leaving on the best cliffhanger by far.
i have to say this series is well worth buying, despite its downsides.
