5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful background for AA316, 18 Dec 2006
I used this book for OU course AA316 - very useful background, good for TMAs.

For the non-OU student, this contains some thought-provoking discussion on puns and sexual imagery and references in Shakespeare. And excellent, well-informed read that provides a 'way in' to some of Shakespeare's more complicated works.

Thoroughly recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but basic, 31 May 2006
Having come from a science background, this was a good introduction to approaching the study of arts subjects. A little basic in places, and a large amount is just common sense. But, it was very reassuring and useful as reference during the first year of my degree.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent as companion for OU course A210, 31 May 2006
This book was invaluable when studying A210 with the Open University. Good coverage of the various approaches and styles, and very clearly written. Very helpful for essays.

4.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I needed, 31 May 2006
This dvd is excellent for anyone that is already fairly fit. Good range of exercises, good music, and very good all round workout. Very much like the fact that Nell doesn't talk, unlike lots of other workout dvds there's no irritating encouragement and commentary by the celeb, she just gets on with it. Really feel like you're in their class with them.

Needs more stretches though, as my calves are always very tight unless I stretch again myself afterwards.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best book on the subject, 13 July 2004
Having been diagnosed over a year ago, I have an impressive collection of books on endometriosis. This is by far the best. It tells you everything you need to know, and doesn't spend too much time on the sympathising and 'oh what a terrible disease' style of other books on the subject. After all, you know all that stuff.
I got this book just before I started new treatment, and it allowed me to go to my consultant and make informed decisions about my drugs and procedures. Definitely empowering.
I can't recommend this enough. Buy it today!

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit basic, but some good bits, 10 Jan 2002
I am an experienced VB programmer and needed a book to quickly learn Delphi. I found this book a bit too basic - if you already know the fundamental concepts behind loops, message boxes and event driven languages, then most of the first two thirds of the book is of little use. However, the sections on objects and exception handling were good, and the book is generally well written (if a little patronising in places!). The more interesting sections on ActiveX and components were glossed over when I would have preferred a bit more info.
A great book for complete beginners, but not so good if you already have the basic concepts sorted.
