4.0 out of 5 stars Superb pianism, 20 May 2011
Wonderful playing - and a good selection of repertoire. Why not 5 stars? The problem is the recording quality of the Gavrilov items, which is too percussive and bass-light - and breathing noises are also clearly audible in the quieter passages.
I would not reject this 2cd set on this basis, as the recordings of all the other pianists is excellent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good value, 10 July 2009
As an overview for those new to King Crimson, this is great, as it gives you a sample of every Crimson incarnation that ever existed. For those familiar with the early Crimson, be aware that two of the tracks have been cut severely - Starless and Lark's Tongues part 1. Apart from the omission of Cirkus from Lizard, no complaints - there are 160 minutes of music here.
