1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, 3 Dec. 2012

I thought the original game was pretty good and so was looking forward to the later version. However, the programmers seem to have forgotten the saying "if it nain't broke, don't fix it" with the result that the user interface is now so complicated you have to be an accountant to operate it. A great pity as now I just can't be bothered to fire it up, operating the economy now just makes my head hurt.

English history explained in a very humourous way. Really enjoyed it. If only history had been this much fun at school!

Every Parish Clerk needs this book (and it will be very useful to Councillors too!). Should be issued to all Clerks on taking up the position.

3.0 out of 5 stars good but slightly flawed, 2 May 2009
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
An enjoyable game but, to my mind, let down by being too historically rigid. For instance, when playing the Axis countries, it is fairly easy to win by NOT following history. If, as Germany, you conquer Poland first, then Russia(to get resources), then Denmark, Britain, Canada, USA in that order, France will still be sitting waiting for you to invade! If playing the Allies, simply allow Germany to take Poland and France and allow it to invade Russia. Pull all Russian units out of the way to North and South and then, when Germany is well on the way to Moscow, simply shut the gate behind them, cutting off their supplies, and pick them off at leasure while using UK to invade and stab them in the back! Once you have grasped how rigid the AI is it all becomes far too easy!

Although the British Constitution is difficult to understand by virtue of it being broadly "unwritten", Mr King explains its' development very clearly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing read, 28 Mar. 2009

I really found this intersting, what a character. In many ways a complete conman but his work for this country was incredible, even though his motives may have been questionable. Why did I not know of this man before?
