4.0 out of 5 stars Feminism? Perhaps not, yet still a valuable read, 17 Jun. 2001
Erica Jong's writing was a new phenomena to myself, refreshingly warm, descriptive and passionate. However, this is not the Second Sex for the new century, for although Jong choses to write concerning feminist issues, she does not articulate any specific arguments.
As a writer she has pechant for lists, impossible metaphors, and maybe even a little vanity at some times. However this only adds to the dimension of the reading experience, her personality embedded in the pages as much as her prose (and poetry).
'What Do Women Want' buds with essays, blooms into litary criticism and is reborn as almost an autobiography, yet Jong is inspiring and this book will definitely inspire you to read, a horrific amount.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Heartfelt Progression, 2 May 2001
This review is from: This Desert Life (Audio CD)
Blown away by their performance at Glastonbury, this Cd was a must, surely their best acheivement to date. The music takes the sensitivity and bittersweet optimism that made Counting Crows what they are, to a whole new level. Mrs Potter's lullaby is equisite and the heartwrenching Colorblind is a must for any avid listener.
The album is an incredible progression, their sound more polished and varied, yet still not losing the original appeal of touching lyrics and raw emotion. This Desert Life is a companion for life.
