4.0 out of 5 stars Nothing new, but still worth playing!, 8 July 2014
Another solid entry for the LEGO franchise. Thoroughly enjoyed this entry! Adheres to the usual LEGO gameplay.

Nothing new in terms of gameplay, but definitely worth purchasing if you're a (Peter Jackson) LOTR fan or a LEGO gaming fan.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Ultimate Driving Experience (With Limited Scope), 30 Nov 2013
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
Offers the ultimate driving simulator experience. Graphics are superb and a great showcase, to demonstrate what the new hardware can deliver. Gameplay is of the highest standard (as is always the case with forza). The sounds are great, the environments are detailed beyond belief, and the cars look almost life-like. A few disappointing touches include the loading times, the lack of tracks/cars and the repetitive sequences between races. A great launch title to demonstrate the potential of next-gen hardware.

+ Graphics and visuals look stunning.
+ Fantastic gameplay and physics.
+ Awesome use of the impulse triggers.

- Loading times.
- Lack of circuits.
- Relatively small roster of cars.

Overall a solid launch title, and a great game to show off next-gen to your friends/family.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perhaps the greatest Zombie game ever., 28 Nov 2013
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Very cinematic, a surprisingly gripping narrative and probably the most complete zombie apocalyptic experience we've seen in the gaming sphere. The environment looks great and adds to the atmosphere, but fails to maximise the graphical potential of the new hardware. Plenty of combo weapons to be found, XP to earn and character upgrades to unlock. A personal favourite element is the "tragic endings" dotted throughout the city, they add a subtle emotional touch which displays the extent of human suffering and disaster in the zombie-apocalyptic scenario.

+ Great Narrative.
+ Solid Gameplay.
+ Highly Entertaining.
+ Possibly the best zombie game ever.

- Mediocre graphics; considering the increased capability.
- Open world is rich and worth exploring, but is rather small.

Highly recommend. Great launch title!

5.0 out of 5 stars Next Gen Has Arrived!, 24 Nov 2013
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Very pleased with the console!

The xbox itself is rather large, but with the vents and disc drive, this design seems to be substance over style.

Dashboard is so stylish, sleek and superb. I spent about an hour showing off to friends just voice switching between apps!

Controller is still just as comfortable whilst being lighter and having awesome trigger motors. Combined with the new actual d-pad it's the perfect instrument to control gaming!

+Voice Commands Work.
+Great Graphics.
+Fast Switching between Apps.
+The Ability to Snap!

- No Sky Go/NOW TV available yet.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Invigorated Francise - Halo 4 [90%], 8 Nov 2012
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Halo 4 (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
Halo 4, is a triumph (especially for 343). The campaign certainly provides the most intriguing narrative the francise has ever seen. The beautiful visuals seen both in gameplay and in cut-scenes is a pleasant reminder to players that the best games are literally interactive art. When it comes to gameplay, this Halo release, more or less reflects the previous games, with few differences of noticeable interest. It could be said that Halo's gameplay is somewhat outdated (linear storytelling, no customization, fixed trajectory), yet Halo simply reminds us that, when done well, Shoot-em-ups can still reach the heights of gaming. The multiplayer has incorporated popular features from the COD series (perks, loadouts, killcam), which certainly offers a minor improvement to the experience. The multiplayer maps are generally good, forge maps are relatively poor though. Multiplayer menus are now counter-intuitive; overly-complicated, confusing party system, lack of a lobby seen in past releases. Multiplayer overall is compelling, albeit with frustrating menus. Halo 4 provides, without any doubt, the best campaign throughout the francise and is a definite triumph for 343!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Solid Fifa Release [80%], 8 Nov 2012
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: FIFA 13 (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
Fifa is, in my opinion, the only compelling football experience available to console gamers. The game mechanics and actual footballing gameplay are fantastic and enjoyable. The new feature of skill games provides something different and offers more extra play value. The manager mode on this release has incorporated a lot of Football Manager-style features eg. squad roles, improved transfer negotiations etc. The game still lacks player-faces with a high number of squad players still having template faces. The first-touch mechanics that have been introduced, adds more realism to the game and is another worthy addition. Fifa 13 is definitely an upgrade from Fifa 12, although the new features are nothing to write home about, they are certainly worthy additions.

A comment on Amazon: must to my frustration my Amazon Prime ordered guaranteed release day delivery, did not arrive on time!

My usual game-review breakdown:

5.0 out of 5 stars Decent Album, 9 May 2011
This review is from: Let Them Talk (Audio CD)
I thoroughly enjoy the album! Reading some of the other reviews on here, I find them exceedingly harsh. The album feels genuine, contains brilliant musicianship and St James Infirmary especially is a fantastic track.
I would not consider myself a blues fan, but I have dabbled and was impressed by the emotion, lyrics and structure of the album. I know this album will be criticised, due to the 'celebrity' of the recording artist. The only slight niggle I find, is the american accent Hugh Laurie sings with (But I guess, you need some of that New Orleans style to carry Blues off).
Worth a buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Long lasting effect., 10 Sep 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This game is godly, not just for RPG fans and 'ffect fans, but for all gamers.
Creating an action RPG which isn't turn based is not an easy task, however Mass Effect 2 demonstrates how it must be done.
The length and depth to this game is immense, plus stunning visuals and a story that is easily worthy of the big screen, creates not just a game, but an experience that is a revolution of its own genre. There is little else to say but sit back, play and be wowed by a game which will leave you fully satisfied and 'spaced' out (excuse that really really bad pun}. The lasting value of this game deserves to be owned by any 360 gamer.

2.0 out of 5 stars Banjo-Kazooie...Really?, 10 Sep 2010
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
Lets face it Banjo-Kazooie on N64 was and still is a fantastically good game. So a Banjo-Kazooie on 360... what more could you want?

The answer is you want to have never, ever played this game.

Banjo-Kazooie (N64) worked because it was a simple concept which played well. So why have the creators removed everything that was good about the game and made a game about building and racing trolleys and cars. The game is in no way relevant to the original except for characters. I cannot express how ridiculous the game is, the story is not even funny in a bad way, it is just BAD! PLEASE don't buy this game if you have played the original banjo-kazooie, as your once fond childhood memories will quickly transform into mental scars that will leave you feeling like you just got slapped in the face repeatedly.

However here's my usual breakdown to explain this game.

Length 8/10
Game-play 3/10
Environment - Graphics/Sound 4/10
Story 0/10
Achievements 7/10
