I've read rather devoured it for the second time! It's an excellent book in that gives a valid insight to recent India and how people survive in rural areas and their struggle for a better life if not for themselves for their children. Not only the topic, but also the way the book was written is so gripping that I had to have the book with me at all times. I can easily recommend it to avid readers of Indian authors.

It's one of the classics that is a must-read. However, I believe I should have checked the translator. The sentences are too long and some vocabulary is archaic. So it would be rather difficult to read for someone who is not so fluent in English.

Excellent advice, easy to read! Grandmothers' advice is still valid today. I would heartily recommend it especially to young parents.

5.0 out of 5 stars IELTS Trainer, 22 Feb. 2012

Unlike other test books, IELTS Trainer offers excellent training with the first two tests, which can also be administered as tests. The action plans given at the beginning of each part regarding different types of questions for each section of listening and reading are very helpful especially for those who urgently need to review before taking the IELTS test. In addition, the exercises given for the writing and speaking sections are numerous and very useful, which can be used as self study material as well. For those who have to take the IELTS test for the very first time, outstanding training material!

4.0 out of 5 stars Best of MP, 16 Mar. 2002
This review is from: Falling Into Infinity (Audio CD)
I think this album is just as ear-caressing as any other DT album, although there are some weaknesses. One of them is that FII certainly lacks the metallic feel that was in Awake and SFAM. Also Falling Into Infinity sounds as if it was an urgent economical aid makeup. Songs are a little bit "radio"ish. Other than that, these guys just go on their regular route, somehow more progressive than any such band out there. FII is lyrically more mature and perfect when compared to Awake or IAW. As a drummer, I can say that this the album in which Mike Portnoy demonstrates his skills the best. The bests are : New Millennium, Hollow Years, Peruvian Skies, Lines In The Sand, Trial of Tears and my personal favorite Hell's Kitchen.
A must-have CD from the Kings for every progressive listener!
