5.0 out of 5 stars brilliant book, 25 July 2008
This review is from: The Ruins (Paperback)
what a great book ! im an reading it for the second time in a year and it still has me spell bound. cant really see how the film will go as most of the book describes the thoughts and feelings of the group - although there is enough action to keep fans of that genre interested. not that much really happens actually despite the size of the book but i still find it hard to put down.keep me guessing until the very end.

1.0 out of 5 stars nightmaster is terrible, 15 May 2008
This review is from: Nightmaster [1988] [DVD] (DVD)
the reason i rented this movie is because i read a decent review of it - well whoever wrote that should be prosecuted for some sort of deception offence. three words to describe this film - terrible. terrible . terrible.
the plot is non existent, the acting is awful and the script laughable. if you think it must be ok because it has nicole kidman in it, think again.the only slightly redeeming factor is the fact that you can laugh at the daft 80's hairdos. dont get this film - you will regret losing one and a half hours of your life.

5.0 out of 5 stars the best book i have EVER read, 4 April 2007
This review is from: River God (Audio CD)
i am am avid reader of all types of book but RIVER GOD beats every single one of not a fan of wilbur smith but fell in love with this book in the first chapter and was riveted until the last page.i have read it about 6 times now and laugh and cry each time. i normally race through a book but with river god i relish each page and am reluctant to get to the end simply because it means the journey is over. the main character taita is so interesting and compelling and tells a marvellous tale that is both a wonderful love story and a great adventure. read this book !!
