4.0 out of 5 stars Well argued case for "firebrand atheism", 31 Dec. 2015

David Silverman makes a strong case that atheism has both the facts and morality on its side and should boldly knock religion from its position of privilege and establish equality and freedom of thought for all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting but tough read, 2 Oct. 2015

I read this book twice to really get to grips with the depth and breadth of great content, evidence and rationale that Senger brings. Will probably read again and get a whole lot more from it

Why We Believe in God(s): A Concise Guide to the Science of Faith
Price: £6.17

5.0 out of 5 stars Insightful and revealing, 23 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A great insight into how our minds work and have the potential to create religion as a byproduct of functions which originally evolved to help us survive

A useful book for those wondering how they came to believe so easily things that are not supported by evidence and reason

5.0 out of 5 stars a thorough in depth analysis of the faith and folly of the church, 6 Jun. 2014

A well researched and highly informative work. The book is a major contribution to the arguments for free and rational thought and shows the results throughout history where this has been denied. Highly recommended as both a straight read and valuable reference

5.0 out of 5 stars honest, thought provoking and we'll argued book, 27 April 2014

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book which in many ways reflects my own deconversion from evangelical Christianity

Ken takes a gentle approach to arguing the case for a naturalist as opposed to theistic world view but his arguments are no less sharp for it

A helpful read for anyone doubting the dogma of the faith in which they were raised

Time Fall
Time Fall
Price: £2.49

5.0 out of 5 stars A compelling read, 18 Mar. 2014
This review is from: Time Fall (Kindle Edition)
Time fall is the kind of book you get into quickly, become absorbed and suddenly find you are at the end
The story takes place in both the present and WW2 and paints a realistic background against which a fast paced storyline unravels
Highly recommended for a weekend read or a few commutes into town

This review is from: God Bless the NHS (Kindle Edition)
A highly readable book addressing complex and important issues with clarity, objectivity and a hint of hope for the much loved and frequently criticised institution which is the NHS. Highly informative logically presented. A must read for anyone who works in, uses or cares about the future of the NHS

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than therapy!, 21 Oct. 2009
This is a really great read! The "Guide" is insightful, funny and all too true. Whether you want to hate the villains, empathize with the victims or just feel smug the book is definitely better than Prozac and cheaper than therapy! I laughed from cover to cover.
