In Mexico City, the former CIA assassin and presently an alcoholic decadent man John Creasy is hired by the industrialist Samuel Ramos, with the recommendation of his old friend Rayburn, to be the bodyguard of his young daughter Pita and his wife Lisa. When the girl is kidnapped Creasy swears to kill each one responsible for the abduction.

Revenge is a meal best served cold!

Forgiveness is between them and God...My job is to arrange the meeting.

Creasy's art is death, and he is about to paint his masterpiece.

Sabotage his work, his fiery will be releashed.

Tony Scott directs this great revenge action packed thriller with a great cast and strong performances, the characterisation is brilliant, the storyline absorbing and the cinematography stylish, its sad and emotional at times and with great action scenes that keep you entertained throughout the movie a truly gripping film from beginning to end.

Overall "Man on Fire" is a great revenge action drama thriller and a must see! Enjoy.

The Sum of All Fears [Blu-ray] [2002] [Region Free]
Dvd ~ Ben Affleck
Price: £9.51

3.0 out of 5 stars 27,000 Nuclear Weapons. One Is Missing., 25 April 2014
When the President of Russia dies and his replaced by a man with a cryptic past, putting the United States on alert to rising Cold War fears. When the CIA suspects that renegade Russian scientists are attempting to develop more mobile nuclear weapons, East-West tensions over flow. CIA director William Cabot sends his best agent, Jack Ryan into action. What Ryan discovers is that terrorists are planning to provoke a war between the U.S. and Russia, by detonating a nuclear bomb at a football game in Baltimore.

Well directed and decent CGI for a film that is more than 10 yrs old, good strong performances by Ben Affleck and Morgan Freeman and with a solid supporting cast. If your looking for an all out action film this isn't it despite the fact there is some action in it, it's more drama thriller, with a well told story that keeps you watching throughout.

Overall a good film and would recommend this for fans of Tom Clancy and Ben Affleck. Enjoy

Before leaving on his second tour in Afghanistan, Marine Captain Sam Cahill, a leader, an athlete, a good husband and father, welcomes his screw-up brother Tommy home from prison. He'd robbed a bank. In country, Sam's helicopter is shot down and all are presumed dead. Back home, while Sam wastes away as a prisoner in a remote encampment, Tommy tries to take care of the widow and her two children. While imprisoned, Sam experiences horrors unbearable, so when he's rescued and returns home, he's silent, detached, without affect, and he's convinced his wife and brother have slept together. Demons of war possess him; what will silence them?

The trio Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Macguire and Natalie Portman have great chemistry together and good performances to all 3 actors, the supporting cast is good as well, This film is powerful, gripping, sad and touching. The film moves at a slow pace but keeps you watching throughout, the film is about what happens to soldiers when they go to war and to see them comeback damaged so badly that they are trying to battle there own demons and try to get back to a normal life.

Overall a powerful and gripping film, a must see! Enjoy

4.0 out of 5 stars To enter the mind of a killer she must challenge the mind of a madman., 17 April 2014
Clarice Starling, a young intelligent FBI trainee, has been sent to the Baltimore state hospital for the criminally insane to interview an inmate Dr. Hannibal-the cannibal- Lecter. A brilliant renowned psychiatrist turned infamous psychopathic serial killer. She must match wits with Lecter -who has the darkest of all minds- and trust him to give her clues in the search for "Buffalo Bill". A nick name for a loose, unknown, unstoppable psychopathic serial killer...

This is one of my favorite films, everything about it is just brilliant, its exciting, creepy and suspenseful. The film is dark, gritty and dirty and difficult to watch at times. Director Jonathan Demme is masterful through skillful timing of the direction, it is well acted throughout. Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins deliver great strong performances that keep you watching till the very end.

In conclusion this film is an absolute classic and shouldn't be missed. Highly recommend this.

3.0 out of 5 stars One night a year, all crime is legal. Survive the night!, 6 April 2014
In the future, a wealthy family is held hostage for harboring the target of a murderous syndicate during the Purge, a 12-hour period in which any and all crime is legalized.

The concept is cool and has never been done before, while the film isn't really scary the antagonists made it disturbing and keep you watching throughout, well directed, good acting and plenty of flashlight-and-pistol standoffs and suspenseful scenes and action.

Overall i enjoyed this film as it was something different. Enjoy!

3.0 out of 5 stars An act unforgiven. A father lost in grief., 6 April 2014
Christian, a divorced father and white collar businessman grieves over the complicated death of his daughter. When a video arrives anonymously in the mail, featuring his daughter heavily intoxicated and mistreated, Christian sets out on a reckless journey to find answers. Fuelled by rage and sorrow, the death toll quickly rises as he uncovers an ugly truth. Along the way he meets Alice, a young runaway not unlike his daughter and a fragile friendship begins to unfold.

Well directed but at times a bit shaky, good acting, very violent in the tradition of WOLF CREEK and CHOPPER, its a low budget movie but has been put together well. Enjoy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Radio Times Guide to Films 2014! A must for film buffs!, 29 Mar. 2014
There are loads of films guides in the shops now a days, but this one for me is the best, i've been purchasing them since 2007 and they just get better and better, the reviews are more detailed and informative and with the star rating, each year it has more films in it that you have been waiting for to read. The film guide always provides such a wide range of new films til the old classics. its helped me to catch films that i have never heard of before or seen on tv.

The only bad thing is about the film guide is that each year you buy them they don't have all the same films in the previous guide,, so at times i look in the older ones instead which is a shame because i've noticed that some film aren't in the book.

Overall this film guide is a must for film buffs. Well worth the purchase and good value for money.

4.0 out of 5 stars If there's anything that you want just ask for it, old sport., 28 Mar. 2014
New York,1929. Bond-seller Nick Carraway, in a sanitarium for depression and alcoholism, is persuaded by his doctor to write a therapeutic account of what put him there. Nick's journal describes how, seven years earlier, he had moved to a tiny house on Long Island adjoining the sumptuous mansion owned by enigmatic neighbour, the fabulously wealthy Jay Gatsby. After attending one of Gatsby's legendary parties Nick is asked by Gatsby to arrange a meeting with his cousin, Daisy, now married to the brutish and philandering Tom Buchanan, who was Gatsby's true love, prior to war service. As Nick complies he comes to see that Gatsby, once a poor boy, has recreated himself as a fascinating millionaire purely to win Daisy back but the events of a drunken afternoon conspire to bring about an ending which is anything but happy.

Superbly directed by Baz Luhrmann with a great cast, great writing, the great gatsby is a great piece of cinematography and visually stunning production, especially with the parties, film starts off mysteriously and keeps you watching throughout to the tragic ending.

Overall, "The Great Gatsby" is a fantastically entertaining and enthralling film. Great watch. Enjoy!

John Cale (Channing Tatum) is a United States Capitol Police officer assigned to Speaker of the House of Representatives Eli Raphelson (Richard Jenkins) after Cale saved Raphelson's nephew's life during a tour in Afghanistan. Cale is struggling to develop a better relationship with his daughter Emily (Joey King), who has a strong enthusiasm for politics. He hopes to impress her by getting a job with the Secret Service, but the interview is conducted by Carol Finnerty (Maggie Gyllenhaal), a former college acquaintance of his who believes that he is unqualified due to a lack of respect for authority. After lying to Emily about the outcome of the interview, she and Cale join a tour of the White House. At the same time, U.S. President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx) proposes a controversial peace treaty between allied countries to remove military forces from the Middle East.

Roland Emmerich is well known for doing big disasters films like Independence day, Day after tomorrow and 2012 which i enjoyed.
Very well directed by Roland Emmerich with great special effects and a brilliant mix of comedy and action set pieces, decent
acting, explosions and car chase scene and a couple of twists i didn't see coming. I will admit that the action is good but over the top, but it's all good fun. Enjoy.

Overall i enjoyed this film with it had a good cast and simple storyline and action that keeps you watching throughout.
