4.0 out of 5 stars Smart? just about enough. Looks the part and inexpensive, 26 July 2015
I would consider this watch a perfect starting point if you want to enter the Smartwatch/fitness wearables arena. It looks stylish and is a hybrid of a smart watch (notifications) and fitness band (exercise/walking/running/heart/sleep monitoring). At a price point of around £100, it is at least half the price of most android wear watches and a third of the price of the Apple watch.

It does the basics very well, but if you are looking for an all singing, all dancing smart watch, then this isn't it. It can't make or receive calls, show navigation/maps, reply to emails or text messages etc. I have owned an Apple watch and a Sony Smartwatch 3 and there were comprises with these too.

I would suggest a little research and find out what really matters to you in smartwatch. Personally, I prefer this watch (I didn't use maps or make calls with the other watches mentioned) and basically used them as a quick glance at notifications and calls i.e. an extension of my phone when it wasn't possible to look at it.

So here we have it, 10 good reasons why this stylish budget smart watch deserves 4 Stars: 1) looks great and is water/dust resistant (IP67) 2) charges very easily (it has a built in USB connector in the strap) 3) one charge lasts for 2/3 days 4) a bright and responsive screen 5) An accurate heart rate (BPM) monitor 6) Monitors calories/steps/sleep etc 7) Acts as a remote shutter for your camera 8) Can control the music on your phone 9) Has decent and a varied amount of changeable watch faces 10) It's inexpensive and a good starting point if you are curious about smartwatches/fitness bands. OH AND ONE LAST THING: It works on both Android and iPhones (IOS) - the first smartwatch to do this!

4.0 out of 5 stars There's more to Donna Summer than the 70's and Disco, 25 May 2015
This review is from: Hits, Singles & More (Audio CD)
This is a compilation album that spans Donna's albums from 1980 to 1991, when she was signed to Geffen Records/Warners/Atlantic.

You get a collective mix of early 80's r+b, pure pop (stock aiken and waterman) and 90's jack swing/dance. Stand out tracks are State of independence, Dinner with Gershwin, This time I know it's for real and When love cries. Crimson have done great job in bring together choice edits and remixes from that era but with a few oddities thrown in, such as the Capricorn ISA remix of 'Work that magic'. I find it bizarre that the (weaker) album version of 'Love's about to change my heart' has been used.

For a career spanning listen to Donna's music, I recommend you buy this album in conjunction with I Feel Love: The collection

5.0 out of 5 stars The best budget phone just got a little better, 3 April 2015
Still the best budget smartphone around and now with 4G. For £150 you get amazing specs (i.e. quad core, 8mp camera, 720p (295 ppi) screen, the current/latest android OS (Lollipop), NFC etc.

For a while I did have the Sony Z3 and although there is a £350 price difference, I actually prefer my Moto G and this is due to the ergonomics of the phone. It's rounded edges and curved back really make the phone nice to handle plus due to the phone having a removal back panel, if you find you damage/scratch the back, its replaceable for £10 (and in a variety of colours). Yes the phone build is all plastic, but it's very sturdy and feels like a quality build. The screen is colourful and bright and with just the right amount of clarity (yes there are better screens out there) but for this price range, it's more than acceptable and a joy to look at

I also want to mention the dual stereo speakers on the front of the phone. While they don't match the depth of the HTC Boom sound speakers, the quality of sound it produces is very impressive indeed.

If you can't justify £400 plus for a phone or simply don't have that kind of money, look no further than the Moto G 2nd Gen 4G (yes, I think its a stupid title too) - it will do all you want and more without the need to take out a second mortgage and I think you will actually be very surprised

4.0 out of 5 stars Works wonders but has flaws, 28 Dec. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
What a very bizarre product! It states serum but it's more like a water consistency and no matter how gentle you press the pump, the liquid does tend to go everywhere, but ........

Shake the bottle vigorously, use the tiniest amount on one finger and rub quickly once or twice from your inner eye to the outer eye and leave for about 2 minutes - the sensation (tightening) is very bizarre. Sometimes it can leave a white chalky residue, if this happens then you have rubbed/dabbed too much or used too much. The end result can only be described as 'feels like i have super glued my wrinkles and eye bags', but in a nice way (if that makes sense).

If applied correctly (trial and error), the results are quite amazing. Crows feet, bags - gone, or at least minimised to the point they can be seen but only under very close scrutiny. Also works well on forehead/frown wrinkles. I don't use it daily as sometimes white patches can appear without you knowing and it looks bizarre, but for special occasions or at times when you can 'monitor' your looks, it's a great product to use

5.0 out of 5 stars OK, I caved in and bought one - do it, you won't be disappointed, 27 Dec. 2014

I previously had i) Samsung Gear ii) Samsung Gear fit and then the LG smart watch. I really enjoy wearables, some might see them as gimmicks, I see them as futuristic and a taste of things to come.

I kept reading reviews on websites for the Moto 360, they all stated how it's beautifully made, looks elegant etc. I saw a demo version on the highstreet (black version) and wasn't impressed by its looks - the watch wasn't switched on, so I couldn't see the functionality/screen in action.

Needless to say, I took the plunge and ordered the light chrome version. First impressions? Very nicely packaged, the Qi wireless charging stand is genius but the watch still looked like a thick round slab on a narrow leather strap.

Pairing the watch to my Moto G was simple and quick, the watch OS (Android Wear) updated itself and I was soon receiving google cards, text, email and call notifications etc.

I have found myself admiring the watch, after my initial negative thoughts, I have to admit it looks stunning when its actually on your wrist, it screams quality and elegance - it's the first smart watch i've owned that actually looks like a traditional watch. The rounded face is a joy to look at, the actual watch 'faces/dials' are nicely designed - from minimalistic to full on graphics - the choice is yours. I thought the watch would just sit, hidden away on my wrist but people have actually noticed it's design and stated 'thats a lovely watch' - I then tell them what it is and what it does and I can see their eyes glaze over - actually not interested in the fact it's a smart watch - they simply thought it looked nice!

Android Wear and wearables are still in their infancy and continue to evolve and offer more (see the Samsung Gear S), but if you are after something that looks traditional and classy, but is full of technology and is an extension of your Android mobile phone and social media, I can't recommend the Moto 360 high enough. Who would have thought, you can be a tech geek and look stylish at the same time :)

PS - While the phone rests and charges on the wireless dock, it becomes a little bedside clock, able to wake you with an alarm etc - a very simple idea but only something Motorola have so far built into their watch.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very impressive - but why no 4G?, 7 Dec. 2014
The 1st Generation of the Moto G was a game changer - a budget phone without the budget specs and the 2nd generation builds on this ethos. Larger screen (4.5 to 5 "s), stereo front speakers, dual sim, micro SD card, upgraded cameras - all this for £150. It's very impressive for the price and probably the best budget phone out at the moment. Android 5 (lollipop) is guaranteed for this model.

The only downside is the lack of 4G - Motorola messed up by missing this off the spec sheet. Most cities and large towns now carry 4G in the UK. Other budget to mid range phones cater for this (Nokia 735, Sony M2 etc). The lack of 4G probably doesn't matter to most and therefore, I still highly recommend this phone

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful piece of technology, 28 Nov. 2014
I really don't understand some of the negativity being directed at this phone. Yes, I will agree the 'exclusive' to o2 (locked) is very annoying and pricing a bit too high, but at the end of the day, it is trying to compete with other high end smart phones and this is exactly what it is.

What I really like about the phone is the fact it's something different - it's coming from a different angle from all the other android phones out there. It's whole eco-system is based around Amazon and the content it offers (hello - Google, Apple and microsoft all do exactly the same), but it's not all about Amazon. The phone is really impressive in terms of specifications: 13mp OIS camera, quad core processor, IPS LCD screen etc. It's fast, fluent and intuitive.

The dynamic perspective is new and something very different - it makes the Fire's screen 'pop' - you can't call it 3D but it does add dimension to menus, icons, some apps, maps and the lock screen - it's a joy to look at. The directional tilting of the phone works really well - it will scroll through internet pages, music libraries, book libraries etc with ease, with a simple tilt forward or backwards, or of course you can just use your finger if you're a traditionalist.

Now the price has been reduced to £250 for the 32GB (more realistic), I'd advise any curious consumers out there to give it a try. BTW mayday works a treat - super helpful and friendly people, nothing is too much trouble for them. Also, the screen size is perfect - 4.7"s means one handed operation is possible - in my opinion a screen 5" plus starts to become awkward. And just a quick note to people out there complaining about the lack of apps (I don't know why - there are so many), the whole system is android based and a simple google search for your desired apps apk means you can side load it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Near perfect, 25 Nov. 2014
What's not to like? Perfectly portable 6" hd screen, suitable for hd movies, e-books etc. Quad core processor, front and rear cameras and all this for £80!!! This little beauty is great for kids and adults that don't want to be weighed down by larger tablets. Apps galore and impressive battery life.
