Allman's masterpiece, 29 Jan. 2009
This album showcases Greg's talent to maximum advantage and is recommended to anyone who enjoys the country-meets-soul approach of the Southern Rockers. Absent from this are the contributions of Duane Allman and Dicky Betts, but happily , pianist Chuck Leavell is much in evidence. The songs range from the familiar - culled from the Allman's repertoire but given a smoother treatment - to the superb 'These Days' penned by Jackson Browne. The very considered choice of material, the brilliant treatment, Greg's fantastic white soul voice - and an extremely cohesive atmosphere throughout the record - mean that his is one album where you'll never have to skip a track to enjoy it.
