4.0 out of 5 stars Terrific heartwarming film, 9 Mar. 2009
This review is from: Fucking Åmål [DVD] [2000] (DVD)
Don't know if I'm quite in the age target for this, but as a middle aged chap thought this a lovely, well acted and charming film. If this doesn't make you feel happier about the human condition by the end then there is something wrong. And take note Hollywood - doesn't need to be schmaltzy! Would've given 4 and a half stars as not quite a 5 but not allowed so sorry 4 it is!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good basic guide, 6 Nov. 2008
This review is from: Basics of Acupuncture (Paperback)
A good introduction for those new to acupuncture, gives most of main points together with suggested 'recipes' for certain pathologies and an insight into TCM. Could have done with some nice colour pictures, but you can't have everything in a book this size - get Seirin for that!

1.0 out of 5 stars No no no, 6 Nov. 2008
This review is from: Me And Armini (Audio CD)
Emiliana hang your head in shame. I loved 'Love in the time..' for it's lovely ambient beats together with that beautiful voice. Wasn't expecting the folky turn of 'Fisherman's' but still great (especially live).

This latest offering is an example of someone with absolutely no idea as to what direction to take musically. I have no problem with taking different directions, but probably best not to take them all at the same time. This is a complete mess and a waste of - did I say already? a beautiful voice.

D- must try much much harder.

The paint had already stuck to other pieces when it arrived, and frankly it's a bit dull. Looks nice on the window sill though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gods of the small screen, 6 Nov. 2008
This review is from: Peep Show: Series 1-4 [DVD] (DVD)
Simply the funniest series ever. Don't mess about, you need to buy this. Cringe making, but also laugh out loud moments aplenty unlike the overrated (although good) Office and Extras. Just a shame that Mitchell and Webb's own material can't get close to this.

2.0 out of 5 stars Gradually deteriorating, 6 Nov. 2008
Let me start by saying I am a big fan of the series... funny and touching, Futurama had long since taken over from the Simpsons as my favourite animation before it was mysteriously axed by the ape like eeejits at Fox.

So far for me, the DVD spin offs have been a poor substitute - maybe the format just works better as an episode? It's been diminishing returns so far - the first film made for a couple of views, the second for just one and this - well it was amusing until the LOTR fantasy began, then the plot just lost it's way. Maybe those little monkeys at Fox had it right all along....
