For Shane Meadows this is not one of his best but it is still worth buying as it is quite funny, and Paddy Considine is always worth checking out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wise Children - Angela Carter, 18 Nov 2009
This review is from: Wise Children (Paperback)
Angela Carter was an incredible writer and this, one of her last novels, is well worth reading. Set in South London it tells the tail of two old twins reflecting on their life as show girl dancers. Funny, mad, perverse. A must for all Angela Carter fans!

5.0 out of 5 stars Collected Poems, Mervyn Peake, 1 Sep 2009
This review is from: Collected Poems (Paperback)
Mervyn Peake was a genius and this book holds some very beautiful descriptive poetry. Many of the poems chart his life experience from war artist to his deep passionate love for Meave, his wife and mother of his children. Whilst as a war artist he entered Belson and there is a very powerful, sad and moving poem about watching a one of the concentration camp victims, a young woman die. This book is certainly worth checking out.

Kit Williams is a genius and this book is wonderful as it features his incredible art work (work done before Masquerade) and photographs of some of his work which are intricate mechanisms made from wood and jewels. This book is a must. Incredible.

The Mighty Boosh Calendar wasn't as fantastic as I thought it was going to be and is now lurking down the side of my sofa. It didn't offer room to write things on for individual days and I was a bit disappointed with the choice of pictures.
