I haven't had this product for very long so I don't know much about energy efficiency yet. So far I find it quite an impressive and sturdy little tool that I don't misplace, it should be with me for a very long time. It has a very powerful white beam with two setting HIGH and LOW. On HIGH the beam can be blinding in complete darkness if you use it to light areas between 2-3 meters away. But if you point it on to areas as far as 20-30 meters you get a nice clear image.

Note: This product is for indoor use only. However, the pump is so loud I could hear it from the different room. I tried positioning it on carpet, reducing the flow etc but nothing seemed to work.
I've packed it and it's going back tomorrow.
Unfortunate. I really wanted this product to work for us.

PURE Oasis Flow, Rechargeable Weatherproof DAB/FM/Internet Radio

4.0 out of 5 stars Not exactly perfect, 28 April 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The Oasis Flow looks great! It is definitely bigger than you expect from having seen the pictures online, and it's weighty. The controls feel robust and of high quality. The battery life seems good enough but it can be better or worse depending on the energy and display settings you use.

Setting up the DAB function is very easy. The device scans for stations automatically and tunes itself with no fuss. If you want to set presets you can do so very quickly by using the on-board controls and the touch-display.

Setting up the wi-fi in order to gain access to The Lounge service is equally straightforward and speedy. You just need to make sure you create an account on The Lounge website through which you can find a lot of material like podcasts and Listen again programs. Make sure you have a well structured favourites folder, as adding material from the radio itself is fiddly and rather annoying.

The feature that took me a while to set up was the Media Player, which works in conjunction with the Flow Server. In order to find the registration key for the server, which you have to download and install, you need to look in a very weird place on the old Lounge website. If you use the new version you will be looking and looking to no avail. When I finally managed to start the server on my Mac, the Oasis Flow immediately connected and picked up all the audio from my iTunes folder. The only audio that I haven't been able to play through the Media Server function is my audio books. This might be due to the fact that the audio books are rather large audio files or perhaps the way they are formatted prevents the Oasis from accessing them.

The audio quality is much better than any analogue radio I've ever heard. It claims to be stereo and I'm sure the actual DAB receiver is. However, there is obviously only one speaker in the radio enclosure so you will only ever hear MONO from the device itself. However, you can listen to radio in stereo if you plug your headphones in.

As PURE have tried to make sure the listeners are able to enjoy a full range sound, the bass coming out of this little box is rather impressive but for some applications it can become unpleasant. Listening to the news with so much bass can be very tiring indeed. Disappointingly, there is no way you can alter the sonic qualities of the device. On the other hand there are three separate controls that allow you to alter the display settings. Clearly PURE got their priorities wrong somehow. Even if they offered an equalizer with 3 presets to allow some sort of control over what's coming out of that speaker would be better than nothing. Although to be fair they have a setting called Dynamic Range. Not sure what it does exactly. I'd call it Muffle Amount control as when you turn it off the sound becomes a little clearer.

Overall, I'm happy with the product but I have given it four stars because:
A. Lack of audio control. No equalizer of any sort.
B. Browsing the menus is a bit clunky at the moment.
So there is definitely room for improvement.

Siemens TK58001GB Surpresso Compact Beans to cup coffee machine Dolphin grey

I received this machine a few days ago and so far I've been very impressed by the results. I have tried it with ground coffee to begin with and the taste was clearly better than my old KRUPS XP4000 delivered. However, if you have a machine like this you would almost certainly not use ground coffee as the results when using good quality coffee beans are impressively better.

But lets take it one aspect at a time.
Easy of use. I would say it's relatively easy to use once you set it up. The manual is not brilliant but good enough. Like all machines it takes a few goes to get your head around it but once you do, that's it. Very simple! Press a button to get your creamy espresso and then put your cup under the amazingly designed milk nozzle to get your perfect froth every time.

When you have finished, the machine will rinse itself. You just need to take the used ground coffee and the water from the tray and depose of it.

Speed. It's quick. You turn it on in the morning and by the time you fill the water tank, get the milk out of the fridge and take your cup from the cupboard the machine is ready for use. If you are making a few coffees for your guests just make sure your water tank and milk jug are full and carry on. No need to do anything between cups.

Design. Excellent! Very well thought out. The minute you open the box you can see German design written all over it. It looks like it's built to last. But this feature can only be tested in time. Perhaps I'll review it again in a year.

It really does what it says on the box. It's automatic, quick, consistent with both coffee quality and frothy milk. I have no negative comments at the moment. Hopefully this will remain the case.

It's pretty noisy! No matter what you do, the transmitter will always be weaker than the interference you receive from legit or pirate stations. However, if that is the only way you can connect to your car stereo then you kind of learn to ignore the noise and you quickly start to enjoy the fact that you don't have to carry CDs with you anymore or listen to pointless and annoying radio shows.

If you have a Tomtom in your car you will quickly realise that one 12v socket isn't enough anymore, as when your tomtom runs out of juice you have to loose your iTrip! Before you know it you will be looking for a four way 12v power supply....

3.0 out of 5 stars Dream Cast? Yes, but what about sound quality?, 12 Dec 2004
I wouldn't go as far as saying that the recording is perfect. The cast is indeed amazing. Fantastic voices and great acting even though standing in the middle of the Royal Albert Halls stage with a microphone in front of you doesn't allow much expression.
However the mastering of the recording itself is not up to standard, in terms of levels and the left channel distorts whenever a loud part is performed. Further more because of the short distance between the microphones and performers, low-frequency "pops" are very apparent throughout
I would also say that better picture direction would add enormously to the overall quality of the production.
