5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect album for any Vai fan, or anyone getting into him, 14 Dec. 2005
This review is from: Fire Garden (Audio CD)
If you're new to Steve Vai, you probably won't know that he is perhaps the greatest guitarist in the world. The speed at which he plays is mind-boggling, mesmerising and completely insane at the best of times. This CD contains some absolutely amazing songs at a pretty good price! The first half of the album (Phase One) is all instrumental, and the second half (Phase Two) is all singing apart from the last track 'Warm Regards' (which is a fantastic track to finish off the album).
Of Phase One, 'Mysterious Murder Of Christian Tiera's Lover' and 'Fire Garden Suite' are perhaps the best tracks, and Phase Two's greatest 'Brother' and 'Damn You'. 'When I Was A Little Boy' is insane - you really do need to hear it to believe it...
A perfect album for any Vai fan, or anyone getting into him, or even just a fan of guitars! If you can appreciate good music, then buy this album.

The music from the Lord of the Rings Triology is truly inspiring. And now, you can get all three in one box! This set will last you forever. Especially good if you are a fan of the film! I found myself listening to it so often that I memorised every track... You can re-live your favourite moments from the film... Its really cool!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great album!, 1 Dec. 2005
These really are some of the best songs of the Chili's. If you've never bought an album, this is the one for you. However, I do say SOME of their best songs. It lacks songs such as 'Can't Stop' and 'The Zephyr Song' and 'Aeroplane.'
Nonetheless, you will love this album I listen to it over and over and over again, never getting tired of it! If you like the Chili peppers but don't own an album, or just like good music with guitars... then BUY THIS CD!

5.0 out of 5 stars One hell of a game..., 1 Dec. 2005
This review is from: Jade Empire (Xbox) (Video Game)
I had been told by so many people that I sould get this game, and that it was worth every penny.
So many people were right. This game is completely awsome. It's so deep! The graphics are pretty slick aswell, when you consider it's not a brand new game. There's a nice large selection of characters to choose from, and you can customise small things like name/statistics, etc. But the further you progress, the more stuff you find. You can update weapons and styles of fighting, and since leveling up takes quite a long time, every time you progress a level you feel a great sense of achievement.
So basically, the game is fantastic, mostly because of its depth. You can also change the difficulty if its a little too hard/easy for you. The only thing I might say that the game lacks is a propper inventory, like you'd find in most RPG's. But you can easily make do without. FANTASTIC!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not as good as Air Guitar 1, 10 Jun. 2005
This second compilation CD contains some utterly amazing Rock music, but it somehow doesn't quite compare to the brilliance of Air Guitar 1. The music on the first CD's were classic Rock songs (with about two or three exceptions) and the content here is not as good or easily recognised. If you're buying your first Air Guitar CD, buy Air Guitar 1, not Air Guitar 2.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast, Furious and Fantastic, 8 Jun. 2005
The saying 'never judge a book by its cover' does not apply to this game. As soon as you receive your shiny new copy of Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition you know you want to play it... The screenshots alone, on the back, leave you BEGGING to play this game! When you first put the disk in your Xbox you will not be disappointed...
After a stunning introduction/cut scene, you will be greeted by smart, polished menu screens. There are four main modes: Career Mode, Arcade Mode, Race Editor and Xbox Live™. (When you first get the game, you may want to give Arcade Mode a try, just to get used to the controls.)
After an introduction to career mode, you need to buy a car, with very limited funds... You will then be thrown into a race to 'prove your worth'. After this you can roam around San Diego to your hearts content, racing street racers, club members and competing in tournaments, to help with your progress. Obtaining money is a challenge, but as your bank account gets fatter, you can spend more and more money on cars and parts... After beating certain racers, you will unlock new cars or parts, from Hummer's to Mercedes' and Apexi parts to Pirelli tyres. The two other cities, Atlanta and Detroit hold even more races, and with such large cities, you never feel like you are doing the same race twice. Bikes can also be unlocked and purchased at hefty prices, but they do provide extra speed... You can also compete in club races, but only certain kinds of car/bike are allowed. All in all, the Career Mode is an exciting, fun mode and you feel a real sense of achievement progressing through the game, as it gets more and more challenging as you advance - this game is excellent, and will provide quite a challenge for pretty much ANY gamer...
Arcade Mode allows you to do all the things you can do in Career Mode (and more!) but you select the types of race and vehicle. You can cruise, race, paint and even play tag! These modes also come with multiplayer options, where you can race on a split screen. Arcade Mode is a great way to brush up on your racing techniques, or just to have a bit of fun with friends.
The Race Editor does exactly what it says on the tin. You can edit existing races or make your own. You can roam around the entire city (any city - San Diego, Atlanta or Detroit) with a suspended camera, placing up to thirty one checkpoints at any places on the roads. Once your track is complete, you can make the rules, test it, race it, and save it. A nice little feature, but by no means the best part of the game...
Like with most Xbox Live™ compatible games, the Xbox Live™ mode enables you to play the game 'in question' against other people anywhere in the world. Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition is no exception. Xbox Live means you can play all the Arcade Mode features online, as you may expect... As well as Xbox Live, there is a Networking Mode, where you can link up two to eight Xboxes and play a System Link game. (I've not actually tried this with Midnight Club 3, but I have linked seven Xboxes together to play Halo 2... I imagine it would be just as fun with Midnight Club 3!)
The final conclusion is that this game is a HUGE hit with all my friends and I. Hours of excellent and fun game play is available along with ULTIMATE customization. Five stars is the limit, but if it were possible, I would award this game more! BUY IT NOW!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD at a great price!, 28 April 2005
This review is from: Devils & Dust (Audio CD)
This Bruce Springstein album is great (to put it simply)! All the songs are really intriguing, as many have political meaning (hense the "Parental Guidance" sticker on the cover). The DVD is not too bad either. There are only five "tracks" but it delivers all it promises!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not too bad..., 28 April 2005
This review is from: The Hunted [DVD] (DVD)
I only watched the film because a friend recommended it to me. He had told me that it was "brilliant," yet I'm somehow unimpressed. There is some pretty good action (including an awsome knife-fight) and a semi-decent story/plot. I did think, however, that maybe Tommy Lee Jones as the main character was a little weak, but still okay.
For the price, this is a BARGAIN buy. Good fun to watch and will keep you entertained for 90 minutes! Well worth it!

1.0 out of 5 stars An Incredible Let Down..., 3 Mar. 2005
If I could sum up the Aviator in one word, that word could not be posted on the Internet. I failed to see how this film won Oscars and gets fantastic reviews! When I pay to see a movie at the cinema, I find that I have to like it, because I have payed good money to see it, but this was the first film I fell asleep in (this is true). The best part was going to the toilet in the middle (which is nessescary, due to the film's length).
This film follows Howard Hughs' aircraft building career, with virtually no action featuring, whatsoever. I never actually wanted to see this film, fearing I would hate it, but I was dragged along anyway.
There are many other films that are better than this. Buy them instead! If you buy this film for somebody else, be sure they like it first, or they will be supremely disapointed...
(Sorry to anybody who disagrees with my review!)
