Stormy Sydney, 20th Anniversary
Stormy Sydney, 20th Anniversary
Price: 5.49

5.0 out of 5 stars There is something Irish about this Aussie?, 14 Feb 2014
Australian born and bred singer guitarist, has released this album of soulful guitar tones, on his 20th anniversary as a recording solo artist. He has traveled to and toured most countries, and released several albums in Europe and the USA. Outstanding tracks are the Irish tinged ones: "Blues For Gary Moore", and "Ned Kelly" with soulful vocals and true legendary story. A bit of Irish among the Aussie Gerry Joe, considering that both Moore and Kelly had been. Outstanding live tracks are "B Good 2 Me" and "Stormy Sydney", among others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Driving into the night, 10 Dec 2011
This review is from: Night Drive (live) (MP3 Download)
This is a crazy version of "Night Drive", performed live in 2010. Originally the studio version can be found on the "Sydney Paris Blues" album from 2005. This latest version is much faster and crazier than the studio version, taking you more on a roller coaster ride, than a drive in a car!

Boogie Ya Na Ho (live)
Boogie Ya Na Ho (live)

5.0 out of 5 stars Indian Blues, 10 Dec 2011
This is the official live recording of Gerry Joe Weise's original song of the American Native Indian: "Boogie Ya Na Ho". This rocks late into the night!

Didgeridoo Groove (live)

5.0 out of 5 stars Grooving Didgeridoo, 10 Dec 2011
A fine piece of traditional music mixed with contemporary blues, as performed by an Australian traditional instrument and contemporary electric guitar.

Haunting Harmonica Blues (live)

5.0 out of 5 stars The Blues haunted, 10 Dec 2011
A very sentimental original bluesy piece of music played here, between the slide guitar and the harmonica player. With it's question and answering being performed between the two soloists.

5.0 out of 5 stars The great end track, 10 Dec 2011
The end track, should probably be the first track on the album, as it is a beauty! "Bushman Boogie Deluxe" is the title track of the album. It is also one of the bonuses that have never been released before, completely unheard of and rare; it has been remastered for pristine sound. The arrangement is interesting, going from acoustic to electric settings, and finishing in an Indian flavoured way. The brushes of the drums for the acoustic beginning, give way to the drumsticks of the electrified middle section, while the guitars change to-and-from : "backwards recordings" and "forwards recordings", without the listener barely ever knowing it. A real masterpiece!

5.0 out of 5 stars Psychedelic, 10 Dec 2011
A Jimi Hendrix influenced original composition by Australian guitarist, Gerry Joe Weise. It sounds as if Eddie Kramer was at the mixing-desk; with the wild drums, the backwards guitars and fiery solos. There is a Talk-Box and an old Dobro, not to mention beautiful guitar feedback used musically.

5.0 out of 5 stars Didjeridu with electric guitar, 10 Dec 2011
This review is from: Boomerang Ocean (MP3 Download)
On the ocean-side, didjeridu with electric guitar; imagination and a sense of melancholy, best describes this instrumental. A wonderful piece of music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Guitar and Didjeridu, 10 Dec 2011
This review is from: Corroboree (MP3 Download)
This song features traditional vocals, with didjeridu and Dobro guitar, in a Ry Cooder vein. Well worth the listen to discover this gem.
