5.0 out of 5 stars Archie is a great character, 13 Aug 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I love the character of Archie, he may be a Dinker bear but he is also typical teenager. From marching up and down venting at the world to realising he is alone and frightened... Archie has a big challenge and in finding his friends he is much nicer for that adventure. The Archie Adventure continues the excellent Dinker stories and I heartily recommend them to lovers of good stories everywhere.

The fourth book in the Twecckle Tales series is a jolly good read. It's about friendship and loyalty and I highly recommend it. A very nice story woven with loveable characters. I can't wait for Dee's next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A really great, big adventure, 2 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I enjoyed Odd Sock's adventure very much. The pictures are wonderful and I felt drawn into the beautiful Scottish scenery and camping out in the mountains. It was a smashing way to escape from the 9-5 and imagine hiking and climbing mountains. I believe children (of all ages) should be able to have adventures and I really loved Odd Sock explaining about camping and seeing a "Munro".

I recommend this book, pick it up and breathe some clean Scottish air with your imagination.

Toddy's Twecckle Jazz Concert is the story of a jolly old jazz loving bear who meets a fellow spirit in a kindly Twecckle and together they make music. I really enjoyed this heartening story very much and recommend it. The characters are enchanting and the line drawings are charming. I look forward to many more Twecckle Tales in this series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Twecckles Tales are simply terrific, 12 Jun 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is the second in the Twecckles Tales series from the author of those wonderful Dinker bear books. The story is sweet and filled with sticky humour which Snuffy (a bear with flair!) deals with in short order. A charming tale and one I heartily recommend to the young at heart - and lovers of stories like the Moomins by Tove Jansson.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful short story, 16 May 2014

This is a really wonderful short story about Twecckles and what happens when bears leave chocolate laying around. Fun and beautifully illustrated. A brilliant extra is that Twecckles can be bought from the Sherfordbears website; so you can read this book and own your very own Twecckle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bright and engaging, 11 Feb 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I loved this book - I feel reading with children is a happy and important part of our relationship and I loved the bright colours and rhymes. This book is cleverly eye-catching and will build confidence and, I hope, a joy in reading. I was delighted to see an older brother reading it to his sibling to the obvious pleasure of them both.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful creative patterns, 23 Oct 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
In "Knit Nordic" Eline Oftedal introduces iconic Norwegian patterns and helps us to apply them to a wide range of projects. I personally love the iPad/Tablet cover and the wrist warmers.

The book is written in a friendly easy to access style with sections on the fascinating history of the patterns, the patterns themselves and hints and tips on techniques. Each of the projects has clear instructions and is marked with a skill level. Some are nice and simple, whilst still looking great, others are challenging and yet the instructions are so clear you complete the project with a great sense of achievement.

The photography throughout the book is beautiful and captures the whimsy of some patterns and the utility of others. I am so pleased that Eline re-imagined these Norwegian patterns into ideas that can be used all year round.
