This has been a disaster !
As soon as the unit was connected into my network it caused the router to restart and subsequently every 10 minutes or so. I have a BT Business Hub 3 router and at first I thought it was the router, so I replaced it with a spare unit but found the same issues.
Having sat and watched the router closely it became obvious that the WIFI was being interfered with and that was causing the router to reset - sometimes back to factory settings.
I then researched the issue and found plenty of BT and Amazon forums describing the same issues. So following advise from others I have tried configuring the router differently, disabling the 'Smart Wireless' options and manually selecting a WIFI channel. In fact I tried all 12 channels available but the Fire TV box still caused the router to reset. I also tried different combinations of WEP, WPA, WPA2 etc but the issue persists. Also tried setting the router to 802.11 b/g and 802.11 b/g/n combinations but the issue still persists.
I also wired the Fire TV box to the router (but I assume the Fire TV box WIFI is still active).
The only thing that stops the router from resetting is switching the Amazon Fire TV box off.
I am therefore returning the item :(
