I discovered Submotion Orchestra while searching youtube for bands of the same caliber as Massive Attack. Submotion Orchestra's album Finest Hour did not disappoint. This is the perfect album for chilling late at night.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting read for Central Asian literature enthusiasts, 26 Jan. 2014
Mr. Khamidov has already done well in his review to showcase the positives in this collection, so I will attempt to touch on other aspects. What I enjoyed most about the main story, When the Edelweiss Flowers Flourish, were the scenes depicting daily life for Kyrgyz people in those times. Caring for livestock, the special bond with horses, the reliance upon herbal medicines, and an element of shamanism all come face to face with collectivization in the sparsely populated mountains and steppe. This made chapter three, Story of My Father, particularly enjoyable to read.

The major flaw in this edition of the book is the obvious lack of proofreading before publication. On nearly every page, there are one or two spelling or punctuation mistakes. This makes for a bumpy ride at times and can distract the reader from his/her task: digesting a soviet-era science fiction work while learning a bit about the customs and language of the Kyrgyz.

Not wishing to dwell on the negative, I want to end this review by saying that the short stories at the end of the book were also enjoyable to read, particularly The Robot's Birth.
