3.0 out of 5 stars The final record?, 7 April 2010
A sticker on the cover states this is Johnny Cash last studio album. Let's hope it is. Of all posthumously released albums this is the weakest. There are not real suprises on it and the production is boring. It does not add anything to the great catalogue Cash build up in his life. Let's listen to all those great records and enjoy it.

4.0 out of 5 stars An exiting masterpiece, 13 Nov. 2009
This review is from: Pleasure Ground (Audio CD)
I bought this album after seeing a live show of the artist, which was in one word fabulous. Listening to it I do not have a clue what the lyrics are about. Citing AMG there are about: "... love, lust, and life". Well if they say so.
For me it feels like anger and frustration. But on some tracks this feeling is kept inside and on others at least partially. It never really breaks out. It builds up to the end of the 40 something minutes of monotone noise and when reaching that point I want to scream it out myself. If a record does that to a person, it must be a masterpiece.
