Women, Work, and Breastfeeding at work, 25 Aug 2013
I work in a high-pressure, male-dominated field and this book came highly recommended by a female colleague - with certain caveats which I found to be completely justified. While this book is motivating, easy to read and rings true, it is highly anecdotal and the reader must bear in mind that a certain pinch of salt is required to make Sandberg's advice palatable for every taste. For the primary source of the cognitive behavioural studies Sandberg refers to, read "Delusions of Gender" by Cordelia Fine (I read this first, which somewhat diluted Sandberg's punch with a sense of deja ecouté). Also be warned that about 10% of this book is about breastfeeding - strange given Facebook's attitude towards breastfeeding pics. I'm glad I read it, but I'll be trading it in.
