5.0 out of 5 stars Very pleased, 7 Nov. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I am delighted with the muzzle. Although my Jack Russell would prefer not to wear it on walks, his personality is much more placid when wearing it - and other dogs/people are safer too.

3.0 out of 5 stars Predictable and far fetched, 2 Jan. 2011
This review is from: The Glass Virgin [DVD] (DVD)
This Catherine Cookson was okay, but average. It was predictable and a little far fetched. The story line was good, and neatly acted. Brendan Coyle played well and so did the other actors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Didn't like it to start, but by the end, loved it!, 2 Jan. 2011
This review is from: Whisper My Name (Paperback)
As you can probably see from my other reviews, I am mostly interested in romance novels such as Anne of Green Gables, the Lady in the Tower, Granny was a Buffer Girl etc., so when I was told this was more ghosts and horror, I wasn't looking forward to it. However, I was neatly surprised, as although the first few chapters didn't take my fancy, once I got into it, I loved it! I got really caught up in the life of Meriel Garland and the discovery of her twin sister that she never knew she had. From then on, the story is fast-paced, exciting and gripping. I expected little of this novel, but it was surprising how good it turned out to be! Maybe this is a new saying : 'Don't judge a book by it's genre!'

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it! But it was cheesey..., 30 Dec. 2010
This review is from: A Carol Christmas [DVD] (DVD)
I love a christmas carol, and the meaning of it, and seeing it acted in modern day terms was fresh and new. Although very cheesey, this American film does show how Scrooge's character can easily take hold in our own lives and how we should understand the true meaning of Christmas. Carol changes from a full of herself, selfish, self-besotted woman to a mature, kind and loving freind to the people around her.

2.0 out of 5 stars Violent, but gripping, 30 Dec. 2010
This review is from: The Black Candle [DVD] (DVD)
This isn't the best catherine cookson, which I believe is Tilly Trotter. I think this is a very violent film, but is well acted with Nathaniel Parker among the cast list. It is a bit tricky to understand at times, but the main storyline is good once you get the hang of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spellbound!, 27 Dec. 2010
I'm not kidding- this book and whole series in fact is great, and one of the best classics of all times. Anne Shirley is now giving up her post as teacher at Avonlea school and attending Redmond College, to puruse her real dreams and ambitions. She takes some of her pals with her, close enough is Priscilla Grant, who shares a mangey old boarding house with her, until Anne's old Queen's friend Stella and exciting new girl Phil come and join her. Stella's relation allows them to use a wonderful, elegant house called Patty's Place for rent, and soon, the girls are having the time of their lives! Anne is also proving popular with the boys too. Billie Andrews, Charlie Sloane and Gilbert Blythe all propose, and are all rejected, until Anne meets Roy Gardner - handsome, and her old description of an ideal man. Will he be her husband, or will she marry her old rival and school comrade Gilbert? Amazing and a must-read before you die book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not as good as number 1 and 3, 27 Dec. 2010
In this second book in the series, Anne is 16, and now teaches avonlea school, where she herself went as a little girl. She struggles to win some of her pupils respect, grows deeply attached and even finds kindred spirits among them. Anne grows into a woman in this book, but it some how lacks the fun and comical side of the first book when she was getting into childish scrapes. Although a great book, not as good as the others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing! You need to read this to fully enjoy English literature!, 21 Dec. 2010
Amazing - Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert decide that at their old age, they could do with a boy to help out on the farm. When Matthew rides over to collect the orphan, it isn't the boy they were after - it is a red-haired, red-tempered, grey-eyed Anne Shirley. She gets into all sorts of scrapes, managing to dye her hair green, make her best friend drunk, smash a slate over her secret admirer's head, walk the ridgepole of a roof and so much more. Follow anne on these exciting adventures, and fall in love with the poetic, romantic, imaginative girl that is Anne of Green Gables.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic sleeping bag!, 30 Aug. 2010
My daughter used this sleeping bag on a school trip and she said it was incredible. It was warm, soft and very comfortable and she got good night's sleep! It is very pretty too, made of pink material with a fur lining and it is easy to zip up. It is very tricky trying to put it into the bag again though, so you may need a helping hand with that, but otherwise, I give it thumbs up!
