From the start i want to be completly clear i HATE that insta-love and the whole love at first sight idea. It is unrealistic and annoys me so much as you dont get to see the characters develop or the feelings of each character slowly intensify. And while i have to say that this book wasnt great and looked like it didnt have any proof reading. I liked the idea behind it. I have to say that the characters reaction (or lack there of) to some things were entirely unrealistic. But... it did have a little something and i found it easy to read and though it didn't hook me as much as it could have i really did enjoy it.

--- SLIGHTLY OFF TOPIC---

I feel like i have to mention this... The first book wasnt that impressive, and to be honest i wouldn't have carried on with this series if i hadn't been bored, i decided to fill the time by buying a sample for the second book and in my opinion the authors writing style had drastically improved so i decided to buy the whole thing which i found to be a great improvement to the first. In the second book there was NO MORE LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT which as i mentioned before is something i hate, other characters begin to develop and form a love that happens slowly and is not forced to go with the story line as i felt Jaque's and Fane's bond had. The story gripped me and was more exciting than the first.

The point of that was to say that though the first story isnt great, you should stick around as the next books will be worth it. To understand the next books you need to read this book. But i promise you it gets better. And its free!

This book wont be everyone's cup of tea, and admitedly it wasn't mine... but wait it out and you will be rewarded with a story that you will fall in love with and a world you will wish would become a reality.

1.0 out of 5 stars awful, a real let down., 4 May 2013
This being the last book of the series, you would expect it to be: suspensefull, gripping, keeping you at the edge of your seat, romantic (Damon pulling out all the stops to make Elena choose him instead of Stefan), full of surprises, exciting, misterious and have an amazing bloodthirsty, slightly scary plot and battle scene, the list goes on. I wont bore you anymore than i probably already have about what should have been.

After 'the return' (which i thought was amazing) 'the hunt' was a real let down. Destiny Rising was pitiful. It held no real surprises or suspence. They chose a ghost writer, one of these reason was because it was TOO Delena, so they fired L.J Smith, but this... its just awful, i wont give away too much of what happens but there was just too little of Delena for me and the way Damon was written in this book after all of the hard work in the return which showed you what was underneath the shackles and behind the mask... then this??

I realize it was for Stelena fans but this... if it had to be Stefan and Elena then my ideal ending , she chose Damon then there would have been an action packed fight that Klaus was winning, then at the last moment Elena is about to recieve a killing blow which Stefan leaps infront of or something, but Elena gets unconcious and is reminded of all the times Stefan was there for her or something like that.

Of course MY ideal ending would be Delena.

Anyway aside from the love triangle this book is really terrible, if i was you dont make the mistake of paying for it,do what i did and get it from the library.

2.0 out of 5 stars good but rushed, 2 Mar. 2013

This book is not the best book i have read by a longshot. I felt the romance was rushed. I liked the idea of having soalmates but i would have prefered maybe for Willow and Landen to have amybe met under normal circumstances and slowly fallen in love before they realized they were soulmates. I felt that there was a huge lack in description and i never really got a feel for what everything looks like. Everything happened to fast and i never really was at the edge of my seat and there was never really any danger. The characters also were a bit of a letdown as really all they were are names on a page, except maybe for Libby (Willows sister) i didnt really care if anything was going to happen to them. It is free so i guess i cant complain. But i would not pay for thenpaperback version.
