A really interesting and educating read, detailing the lives of those he meets and the difficulties involved with such exploration. Great!

5.0 out of 5 stars Adventurous and entertaining, 3 July 2014

Hemming's dry wit and entertaining prose delivers a fantastical story of the adventure of the main character Tom Hargreaves. An engaging read that is well conceived by a new author in this genre. Rankin and Pratchett spring to mind with a touch of Wilt, all mixed with Hemming's own style. Entertaining.

4.0 out of 5 stars Scattered but a very interesting read, 25 Dec. 2012

An interesting insight to Neil's past, present and future wishes and plans. Clearly a man determined to continue to leave a mark not only with his music but with his ideas.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good if you can get beyond the complaining..., 10 Feb. 2011
I enjoyed the book although I would say that the continual complaining about being in Ethiopia can be a little tiring.
Lots of insight into the country and would have been excellent if most of the comments about how to escape from the country had been replaced with detail / description of the other members of the group. We seem to find out a lot about the author and very little about anyone else in the book. It's an ok read.
