4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent device for USB Audio/Midi + iPad, lacks official documentation, 16 Mar. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I use this to connect my iPad to a USB DAC – the sound quality from this set-up is outstanding.
It also works well with Roland UM-ONE mk2 USB MIDI Interface.

For the £25 it would have been nice to have some information on which devices/specifications are "officially supported". Apple call it a "cameral connection kit" which is a bit of a cop-out. This means that if you want to do more than just connect a camera (who would bother to pay £25 for that privilege?) only trial-and-error will tell you if it works with your particular hardware.

A Practical Guide to Designing for the Web
A Practical Guide to Designing for the Web

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent overview of design as applied to the web, still relevant in 2016, 16 Mar. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I imagine it's most useful for freelance web designers who don't have a classical design school background – similar to Kadavy's "Design for Hackers" which I would also highly recommend. Both books demystify fundamental design principles, explaining typography, colour and composition. Kadavy has more detailed and up-to-date examples and Boulton has better practical tips on design workflow and starting a business.

I dropped 1* simply because the book appears to be available freely in the public domain under the Creative Commons licence.

Mens 'Muscle Fit Basics' Heavyweight Fitted Plain V Neck Basic T-Shirt - 3 Colours (S, White)
Mens 'Muscle Fit Basics' Heavyweight Fitted Plain V Neck Basic T-Shirt - 3 Colours (S, White)

4.0 out of 5 stars Still searching for the perfect basic T..., 28 Aug. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I didn't realise that "Muscle Fit" these days means not just a slimmer waist but also a slimmer chest. So this might not be the perfect cut if you actually have a bit of muscle on your chest/back!

I'm 5'11" / Chest 39 / Waist 32—i.e. very far from bodybuilder proportions. Size M is marginally tight across the chest (fine in the shoulders and waist).

On the positive side, the fabric and construction appear excellent. The neck line—a weak point on most T's after a few washes—looks particularly durable. Length is great to wear untucked, too.

A great basic T-shirt—just take care about the fit!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but not outstanding, 27 Jun. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Somewhat fruity smell that is pleasant enough and then quickly dissipates.
It goes on well and gives comparable results to any other moisturizer.

In this price range, I prefer the Ahava moisturizer.
The Kyoku lava masque is probably their best product.

Also don't be fooled by the RRP—£45 would be a joke.

The genius of Pavel is understanding what makes people tick psychologically and designing the program around that. He knows most people never follow programs for any significant time, and either lapse when busy/stressed or throw in "extra" stuff when over-earnest. S&S, like the Glock pistol he so admires, just keeps working in all situations.

As an example of this, he cleverly sneaks in the goblet squat as a "warm up" (plus 2 other exercises and 2 very good stretches) rather than putting it in the "main program". The beauty of this is that the full program is truly comprehensive for the average person, but yet you don't feel "over faced"—at the very least, most days you can muster up enough time and energy to skip the warm ups and just do a few swings and a couple of get-ups and yet still get most of the benefits.

S&S also complements other activities. I've been doing the program since December along with martial arts training and I've found the strength gains transfer very well to both overall movement quality and explosive power. I'm getting stronger without really trying—it really works if you do the program as Pavel says, "like brushing your teeth". I can't wait to see where I will be when I've reached the "program minimum" of 32kg in each exercise!

Finally in an industry where the latest and greatest $100 programs are the norm, the price is perfect. Pavel—probably a genius businessman as well—gives you no excuses not to buy it! Thanks, man!

3.0 out of 5 stars Fool's gold?, 9 Aug. 2011
A good choice if you have a penchant for the cable equivalent of bling: shiny gold-plated plugs and thick, inflexible white cable.

I replaced this in my audio system with a cheapo optical lead bought from Lidl for half the price and--surprise, surprise!--the sound is exactly the same.

The plugs are a nice snug fit and it does the job, but don't even dream of paying "full price".

4.0 out of 5 stars It Just Works, 21 April 2011
Having looked though the rows and rows of similar Notebooks on the High street, the predecessor to this model, the G560, stood out as being a bit more refined with one of the nicest keyboards in the price range and a nice matt case that struck me as a functional work machine, which is what I wanted.

But I also wanted a newer 2nd Edition Intel i5 Core model (Sandy Bridge Architecture) and this was one of the first mid-priced general Notebooks available featuring the newer chips. This chip is supposed to offer good power and integrated graphics good enough for most jobs whilst consuming relatively little power, and I have no reason to doubt this so far. A pretty powerful Notebook (pretty much the same processor and graphics as the MacBook Pro 13 2011) with good battery life. £500 seems about the right amount of money to spend on an everyday working Notebook to last a few years. No doubt many other manufacturers will follow with similar specs/prices, so much comes down to the case and overall feel.

The G570 has a different keyboard to the G560, but it is also superb. The keyboard surround is a nice brushed aluminium which is cool to the touch. Compared to the keyboard, the screen is merely adequate, but at least as good as others in the price range. Like many others it's glossy and not that great if used outdoors. Sadly, they've also replaced the matt lid on the G560 with a glossy fingerprint-magnet. The trackpad is nice and supports all kinds of gestures, the only niggle is that the two fingered scroll seems a bit jerky and I am still trying to find a setting to adjust that to the smoother behaviour I was used to on my iBook, I think it's an OS issue. The trackpad also a tiny bit small, and personally I'd have been happy to lose the buttons in exchange for a bigger trackpad.

The fan gets a tad noisy, but doesn't kick in so often. It's a quiet machine overall, but I wouldn't know how it compares to others on the market. I know that Samsung advertise a "silent mode" and this would be something I would have been interested in, if it's more than just hype.

I've only had this machine a couple of days, but I'm very happy with it so far. I give it 4 stars rather than 5 because it's so new and there are no doubt other competitors on the way, but I could have equally given 5 stars. It's a machine to use rather than rave about or brandish as some kind of lifestyle choice--it just works!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best value replacement for supplied Blackberry headphones, 6 Nov. 2010
Unlike some of the other cheap headphones around on eBay/Amazon, quality is comparable with the 'phones supplied with my Blackberry. Compatible with 8520 Curve.

Superb value for money, I'm ordering a couple more sets!

5.0 out of 5 stars The desert island knife?, 11 Aug. 2010
This would be the one kitchen knife I'd take camping as it can do a bit of everything. As well as tomatoes, it also does bread and steak. It's short enough to peel fruit and veg, yet long enough to chop at a pinch.

It's as sharp as a professional knife, but still cheap enough to lose/replace.

My only criticism of this range in general is that the handles are a bit thin for my taste.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use and portable. Strong signal, 30 Dec. 2006
Sound quality isn't as good as FM radio, but if you care about that you'll need a proper wired connection rather than an FM transmitter.

It works superbly on the lo-fi stereo in my truck because you can reduce the bass on the iPod's EQ and crank up the volume beyond levels which would normally cause bass distortion. I'm less impressed with it in my car--which has a better stereo--but it's still OK for me.

I've had no problems with interference--the iTrip will generally drown out other weak signals.

Very satisfied overall.

But I do wonder what will happen in traffic jams if everyone starts broadcasting their iTunes! iTune rage??? :-) So don't buy one, and keep the frequencies free for me!
