5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best works on Stonehenge, 29 Aug 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book contains far more accurate information about the monument than any other comparable book. It is also a very good read. I have lots of books on Stonehenge (needed them for a research project).

I ended up needing to buy two copies of this: One for reference, one relatively clean. And I paid the full cover price for both.

I could go on, but the above probably says all that a potential buyer needs to know.

5.0 out of 5 stars The landscape around Stonehenge: What other clues there are., 1 Aug 2013

Well written and easy to understand. The focus of this book is very much about the overall development of this area, rather than concentrating on the monument. As such, it gives valuable insights into what else exists and, in some cases, describes things which are not noted elsewhere (some Stonehenge books contain very similar content, but this is not one of them)

5.0 out of 5 stars The latest information in an easily digestible form, 26 Jun 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Having read other reviews of this book, I was unsure whether or not to buy it.

In this book, Professor Parker-Pearson uses an easy going style to describe the sequence of events which led to recent discoveries in the last few years. Focusing not just on the monument but its surrounds and other relevant locations, the book takes care to explain how and why recent investigations took place. New discoveries are recorded in some detail together with short descriptions of existing knowledge and a useful revision of the established time-scale for the monument's construction: The attention to describing new information leads to a slightly dis-jointed approach, which was probably unavoidable given the breadth of sources; but compensated for by the enthusiasm which runs through the book.

Overall, the book is different from other works on Stonehenge because of the concentration on providing the latest information, from a variety of investigation projects, in an easily digestible form.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, 16 Mar 2010

Very simple to install (took 10 minutes and would have taken 5 if I'd seen that I hadn't actually plugged the phone in). Works great with skype again very simple. Rings loudly. Quality of speech good. I like the speaker-phone option for handsfree and 'whole family' conversations.
