Live In San Francisco

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the studio versions, 21 July 2006
This review is from: Live In San Francisco (Audio CD)
Oh what a tallent, this man can play guitar, not a wrong note and he plays millions of them, many of the tracks are better live than on the studio versions. Its a long set but never looses intensity, is well recorded clear and bright, this is Joe at his very best.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best live Deep Purple CD, 21 July 2006
This review is from: Live At Montreux 1996 (Audio CD)
Forget made in Japan, this is the best Deep Purple live CD, the tracks played are great, the band tight, Steve Morse just shines on guitar and today stands on the top guitar pedestals, Mr Gillan is in fine form and some of the newer songs just stand out and the favourites are played with vigour and style, if youve seen them live recently and they are playing better than ever in 2006 well this will capture it for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you like electric guitar then you will like this., 21 July 2006

Frank is an unsung guitar hero of the finest quality, this album is pure guitar hero and boy can he play, seems to have been around forever but little recognised for his tallents. A good live recording clear and bright, versatile playing and true guitar hero stuff, are the solos too long, yeah well thats what you want its guitar hero stuff, seriusly if you that 60s 70s blues based guitar solo stuff this is for you, close your eyes and you are there, keep rocking Frank.

This was my introduction to Derek Trucks, from the opening bars you know you are listening to something different, fresh, interesting and technicaly masterfull. Beautifully recorded this CD has a real, you just gotta listen sound that drags you in and you soon find your hooked, cant wait to hear more.
