Horrible Histories - Series 6 [DVD]
Horrible Histories - Series 6 [DVD]
Dvd ~ Rowan Atkinson
Price: £9.99

2.0 out of 5 stars A different flavor, 14 May 2016
Nowhere near as good as the previous shows. No earthy humour, no fun and no education!

Not even Jim and Death save this series.

And as for Rowan's singing... Aaargh!!

bee bright - Out & About on the Farm - Mighty Machines! - Part 2

5.0 out of 5 stars Part 2!, 13 Feb. 2016
I thought part 2 was like Atlantis - non-existent. But here it is at last. Kids love it.

Quality production and presentation. Plenty of nuggets of information easily conveyed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Time for a clearout, 4 Jan. 2016
Gets straight on with the story/action from the start, which a lot of the recent stories have not.

The loose ends from Stone's past get sorted out. Time for a fresh start in the next volume. Stone can't have any mates left.

Make Me: (Jack Reacher 20)
by Lee Child
Edition: Hardcover
Price: £6.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Best for some time, 4 Jan. 2016
After the last few books whose plots are forgettable this is a welcome and strong return to form, even if the title does sound like a playground taunt.

Reference to Reacher's physical appearance are noticeably minimal this time - we are either supposed to know all about it or it makes it easier for an actor wholly unsuitable to take on the role??

5.0 out of 5 stars Dokken's finest, 28 Nov. 2015
This review is from: Dysfunctional (Audio CD)
A real comeback special. Now, this comeback is pretty much 21 years old now, which is mad seeing as the band split about 6 years before this. And it only seems like yesterday this comeback happened. And it is great - quality songwriting, production, variety etc. Dokken in 1980's was pretty good, but this is masterful. A mature effort that remains a fitting legacy, by any stretch their best. A pity they could not carry on to such standard afterwords.

2.0 out of 5 stars AARRGHH!!, 28 Nov. 2015
Great opportunity missed! The sound is awful - really thin and at times guitars/solos are totally absent. Anyone new to the band watching this would wonder what the hell all the fuss was about.

I guess we are all so used to "in your face" audio quality these days - but surely the technology exists to make recordings like this acceptable at the very least???

Brilliant collection from a quality band. The only record set you ever really needed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top quality, 14 Nov. 2015
This review is from: From Now On (Audio CD)
This is great. Probably the best pop/rock album ever. Quality production, playing, songwriting... From hard rocking, widdly-widdly to sedate and haunting moods there is plenty of diversity here and it works so well together.

The version of Burn is as good as you will hear anywhere.

The first of many excellent releases from Glenn Hughes in the nineties.

Incredibly this gem slipped under the radar for decades. This is a great live album and shows how underrated and ignored this era of the Kinks is. Rocking Kinks beats the more countryfide Kinks hands down. Plenty of great tunes here - don't let these modern classics get lost in time.

Well performed, produced and for the most part great songwriting.

Better than Venom with a thick and meaty sound, all credit to the musicians who have got better with age. Even if they do look like they have come to tarmac the driveway.
