Hansel and gretel, 24 Aug 2011
I am writing a review on Hansel & Gretel. The book was written and
illustrated by Anthony Browne.
This story is about two children named Hansel & Gretel who live with their evil step mum and their father who is a very poor woodcutter. Their parents abandoned them twice in the wildest part of the forest and one time they found their way back home. The second time they got abandoned the birds had eaten the bread trail! Then they end up at a house made of all kinds of goodies but a cunning witch lives there...
We have read this book in class at story time and personally my opinion
is that I thought it was one of the best books that I have heard
because it was really well written and beautifully illustrated. I
started to get really eager because my teacher had stopped reading each
time on a really important cliff hanger.
I would recommend this sensationally, brilliant book to all ages as it
is highly emotional because I felt really sorry for the children
getting parted from their parents.
