The ingenuity of this created world is continued and further creatures of both the hominid and dinosaur kind are introduced. Although not as good as the first book it is nevertheless an entertaining read. The glossaries at the end are useful in helping to get one's head round the names !

DVDs well presented and packaged. Lots of extra features especially audio commentaries which personally I like though a lot of people don't.
As for the season, things seem to have changed and they have not quite found their way yet. It seems that they realise that NCIS was becoming too formulaic. Episode 200 I found very disappointing. The introduction of the character of Ryan played by Jamie Lee Curtis I found to be very, very annoying and a real retrograde step. As usual DiNozzo senior was irritating.
Wonder if anyone out there has done some statistics - number of Marines killed v. Navy personnel. officers v enlisted, women v men ?Be interesting to find out !

Alas this was a season too far for Jag, they should have left it at Chegwiden's retirement. Didn't like the new JAG at all.Our hero was putting on weight so they introduced a new young lawyer who was a real pain.
Best episode was the last when Mac and Harm were offered promotions but at opposite ends of the earth. To decide they tossed a coin but we never see the result ! Brilliant.

4.0 out of 5 stars A season for fans, 18 Aug 2013

Firstly the package. This was the UK version not the Dutch version quoted by so many reviewers.Excellent quality sound and vision. 6 discs with a host of extras including a short one on Michael Weatherley directing. There is a special feature on every disc except disc four and three on disc six. Box contained in a slip case.
Note that 'some episodes may be edited from their original network versions' does this mean cut or extended or what? The blurb on the outside of the cover says that it' contains every heart-pounding minute of all 24 episodes' - ummm.
As to the quality of the season, after all these years there are bound to be some flat episodes. The introduction of agent Barrett to the squad with her team didn't really gell and yet again we were 'treated ' to Tony's father ! ! I'm also wondering how the Marine corps is doing as so many of the bodies found, not only in this season but previous ones, are Marines.

5.0 out of 5 stars Practical and fun, 17 April 2013

Having difficulty opening wine bottles due to arthritis and shakey hands it was a choice between wine boxes or, heaven forbid, giving up drinking wine. ! ! This little gem has saved the day and is quite ingenious. Corkscrew goes down then reverses to withdraw the cork, then we press a button to release it. Great. All this and a blue light as well.

The Fox and The Faith
The Fox and The Faith
by Dan Parkinson
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Down to the sea, 14 April 2013
This review is from: The Fox and The Faith (Paperback)
Set during the time when the fledgling American colonies were revolting against the British Crown this is a most enjoyable yarn introducing the Irishman Patrick Dalton, officer in the King's Navy but with enemies ashore who bring a charge of treason against him. In his attempts to escape death or confinement on a prison hulk he steals away a prize schooner belonging to the prizemaster Jonathan Hart - who was instrumental in destroying Dalton's ship the Herrett. A ship that was about to be stolen back by the daughter of its original owner and a group of Colonials.
A motley crew with almost all hands against them this is the story of their flight along the north eastern seaboard of America. Dalton is an ingenious and experienced seaman. Detailed knowledge of nautical terms is not necessary for enjoyment as the tale rollicks along. So long as you know your port from starboard, your fore from aft you will be OK. Knowing the points of the compass could be helpful and, if you are like me, you would have welcomed a map. Still there is always Google !

5.0 out of 5 stars Dalton sails again, 6 April 2013

A follow up to the Fox and the Faith,The Faith having been virtually destroyed in the final battle against Jonathan Hart, Patrick Dalton is without a ship until he comes across a beached ketch. With a motley crew he makes her seaworthy ,and gets a cargo. His crew is a real mixture some are old hands from the Faith, but somehow he acquires five Hessians who speak only German, and two Native Americans who speak English but with a strange pseudo Cockney accent. It is possible to understand them - just - but I don't think it is ever explained how they learnt such bizarre English. Add in assorted Colonials and they take to sea.It is danger and battles at sea as before, all taxing Patrick's ingenuity to defeat greater odds with the restored ketch 'Mystery' until he encounters the snow ' Fury'. There is humour along the way even though he still does not allow laxity on board his ship.

3.0 out of 5 stars Corruption and redemption, 31 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Officer Down [DVD] (DVD)
An average thriller with a twist which we did not see coming. The setting is a refreshing change - Bridgeport, Connecticut, but the problems are the same - girls being forced into sex, corrupt cops, gun violence, foreign (?Russian) baddies at the centre of all.
The first part is full of flashbacks - in black and white except for a red car - very significant - but annoying. The lead character - Callaghan - is on screen for most of the time as he battles with his past, his inadequacies, the plot. Any David Boreanaz fans buying this shouldn't blink - you might miss him ! Altogether same old, same old.

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful aid, 22 Feb 2013

This item was puchased for my husband who has difficulty walking. As with any product there are pluses and minuses. It is indeed very lightweight and I find that I can easily fit it (folded up of course) behind the front passenger seat of our small Peugot 107. In addition it is light enough for me to lift into the car. (I have RA so no strength )
The seat is comfortable and the backrest useful.
On the minus side, the brakes do need adjusting frequently.
As the rollator is intended for both indoor and outdoor use, we find that the wheels, or rather the tyres, are very hard and jarring on less than smooth surfaces - which is virtually all outdoor surfaces. Pedestrian precincts are particularly a problem as are cobbled streets !
On the whole we are well satisfied and are coping well with the many sloping surfaces in our part of the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars The story continues, 28 Aug 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Continuing the story after the discovery of the Aivas. The familiar characters become bound up in the plans to rid Pern of the menace of Thread at source. We have heroes and villains and some sadness, making for a cracking good yarn in the best Pern tradition.
Characters have grown up somewhat as it should be, but the romance of the dragons is still there.
