5.0 out of 5 stars awesome bit of kit, 28 Mar 2013
Camera is gorgeous - and a pleasure to use. Only an amateur (a pro probably wouldn't buy this sort of camera) but I have enjoyed spending hours playing with all the different settings and effects available on the camera and I've had some fantastic results. Great looking piece of kit - nice quality build.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great laptop!, 12 Jun 2010
Had the G62 a few weeks now and really like it.

Its great looking - textured silver finish all over, slim and nice looking simple design.

The 2.13Ghz Intel i3 chip gives great performance as does the 7200rpm HDD (nicer than the typical 5400rpm drives you find at this price point)

Its fast, nimble, quiet and cool-running with a very nice screen to boot.

A great all-round notebook!

Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy It - it will be the best few pounds you ever spend!, 4 April 2006
I was given this book for christmas one year by my Dad who had given up smoking many years ago and wanted his son to finally kick the habit that was slowly killing him.
It was the best christmas present I had ever received - even though I did not appreciate that as I unwrapped it. That night - christmas night - I began to read and whilst sceptical at first I soon realised as I turned the pages that I was on my way to becoming a non smoker. It was ver scary - but also very exciting.
Allen Car doesn't preach alot about the health implications of smoking or drive home just how much money you spend on cigarettes - what would that do? After all you are a drug addict and you smoke every day knowing full well that it is killing you and costing you money - no, thats not what this book does at all...
This book blows away all the misconceptions you have about smoking - and what cigarettes actually do for you (i.e. NOTHING) It becomes very clear as you read what little you know or think you know about smoking and the effects of nicotine. This book has the effect of making you feel totally ignorant about a habit you have blindly been a slave to from the day you lit up your first cigarette.
I finished the book on the morning of boxing day and have not smoked a cigarette since - nor have I wanted to.
Its not a trick or a scam and its not about brainwashing you. In fact - far from wanting to brainwash you - the book sets out to undo the brainwashing you are already unwittingly under.
Buy this book - do not be scared of the final chapter - read it and break free. You'll be so happy you did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally brilliant!, 15 Jun 2005
This review is from: Angels And Demons (Paperback)
Having never been a real conspiracy/mystery/thriller fan, and being much more into Film than literature - I decided I would only read the much hyped Da Vinci Code as it was being filmed so that, in the event that Hollywood murdered it horribly, the Dan Brown phenomenon would not have been totally lost to me. Thankfully DVC (the book)was sufficiently great to prompt me to move quickly onto Angels and Demons. And boy was I glad I did! This book was an absolutely fanstastic read, and I honestly could hardly put it down.
Despite reviews to the contrary the story gets off at an extremely fast pace, with the protaganist literally whizzing across the globe at Mach 15 on a sub-orbital aircraft just a few pages in. The plot of this book was ladened with so much fact and insight; from partcile pysics right through to satanic cults that it constantly begs you to re-evaluate (even if momentarily) everything you think you believe about God, Mankind, Religeon and Science. And lets face it...what else is there in life? A truly brilliant book that made my bus ride to work something to look forward to.
The villians are slightly more archetypal and less ambiguous than the Da Vinci Code and is perhaps abit more "Indiana Jones". Also - with the action stepped up, your disbelief will be suspended perhaps a little higher than it is in the Da Vinci Code, however for what its worth; to me this was the better read.

5.0 out of 5 stars 'Bout Time, 15 Oct 2004
This review is from: Viewtiful Joe (PS2) (Video Game)
At last - the best platform game I've every played (uptil now only on the GC) has finaly arrived on PS2. I cannot stress enough how completely engaging, frantic and frankly excellent this game is. Don't let its "platform" mantra either a) put you off or b) make you think this is just for the pre-teen age groups. This game is whack full of challenging levels, brilliant visual effects and head-scratching brain teasers.
The sound effects, voice overs and over all "mock retro" style of the game make you feel funky just to be playing it.
Joe is just your average movie geek with a woody for superheroes. When his girlfriend is kidknapped during a movie date - and actually pulled into the movie - Joe leaps through the silver screen himself to rescue her. Along the way Joe picks up some of the coolest moves and abilities you could hope to have. Mach-speed, Slow-Mo, Zoom-in and stylised "super poser" effects and loads others. Stuff the Matrix - this game is what "bullet time" was invented for. Buy it - and play it over and over again. You'll be glad you did.
