3.0 out of 5 stars Not Very Good..., 26 Feb 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I was really excited about getting this Palette, it seemed like a Make Up Must-Have, however it seems it wasn't meant to be. Here's why below...

PACKAGING: I purchased this product from Hong Kong and it came very well packaged however one of the eyeshadows (unfortunately a beautiful looking shimmery plum one) was broken. I believe it was damaged in transit and nothing to do with the seller. The packaging itself for the palette is very flimsy and not very durable. I wouldn't feel comfortable travelling with it.

PRODUCT/CONSISTENCY: I had very high hopes for this Palette, and it looks beautiful. However, aside from the 3 shimmery colours and the Black shade, there is hardly any colour pay-off. It's not pigmented at all and the colours, when blended, fade out to almost nothing, even with one of the best Eye Primers on the market. Extremely disappointing. However, the shimmery colours and the Black shade are super pigmented and are even comparable to the quality and pigmentation of Urban Decay eyeshadows!

REPURCHASE?: No. If I change my mind, I'm going to buy this as cheaply as I can possibly get. I don't recommend paying double figures for this Palette, it's simply not worth it. Such a shame, the colours really are beautiful, but they just don't transfer to the eye at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comparable to YSL, 16 Nov 2013
I think this Lip Cream is on par with Yves Saint Laurent's Le Mats Lipstick and also a much better version of Collections Creme Puff Matte Lip Creams. You get a lot of product and a little goes a long way, it also smells like Vanilla Cake which is always a plus! It lasts for about 3-4 hours with eating or drinking so it might be handy to carry around for top ups, but for the price I think the staying power, pigmentation and quality is fabulous! I found this a little drying but I think all matte lip products are (my YSL Lipstick is the same) and it's nothing a little Lip Balm can't tackle! Love it, would definitely repurchase!

4.0 out of 5 stars It loses a Star because of Slaughtered Vomit Dolls..., 16 Nov 2013
I recieved this as a birthday gift from my Boyfriend (after months and months of begging for it!) and I actually really love it! Except for the first film, but I'll explain in more detail below...

THE BOX SET: The box itself is pretty awesome. It has LV's drawings throughout and a grizzly scene behind each DVD. In this Trilogy you also get a Bonus Disc featuring the brutal short "A Perfect Child of Satan", which is a cautionary tale about meeting people and having relationships online. Well worth the money.

The Vomit Gore Trilogy itself is about a teenage runaway, drug addict and stripper named Angela who makes a pact with Satan during an extremely low point in her life. At the time of these movies being made the actress who plays Angela actually entered in to a dominant/submissive relationship with Lucifer Valentine, and the movies seem very symbolic of their real life pact. In this pact she promises him her soul, and Satan doesn't have to wait long because she commits suicide and then we see her descent in to the Constellations of Hell... That's it.
I really like the 2nd and 3rd movie out of the VG trilogy (which are called ReGOREgitated Sacrifice and Slow Torture Puke Chamber) however I find the first film (Slaughtered Vomit Dolls) pretentious and pointless. It feels like it's being artsy and "sick" without plot or purpose in SVD, it's only when you watch the 2nd and 3rd film that the story starts to pull itself together. Be warned, there's truckloads of Puke and lady parts (haha, sorry, I didn't know any other way to put it right now) and scenes of extreme sexual violence and torture, but wierdly, that's what makes the movies gel together. Very strange. I really, really enjoy this Box-Set and would recommend it, however it is a very acquired taste, only for the most hardened of Sick Horror Fans. I wouldn't however, recommend eating whilst watching this, otherwise you might be doing a Lucifer Valentine movie all of your own!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Ended up in the Trash..., 11 Nov 2013
When I saw the Dainty Doll line in my local beauty shop and on Amazon, this paticular product shot right to the top of my wishlist! I'm a sucker for Balms and was especially stoked when I saw... this one was shimmery! I had to have it, however after much use (and denial) I finally admitted defeat and threw it in the bin. Here's why...

PACKAGING: The packaging is great, you get a LOT of product and the lid also has a little mirror in it! I travelled with this product with no issues, no spillages or breakages.

PRODUCT/CONSISTENSY: I was hoping I'd love it. It smells really nice and the balm itself is shimmery, so I thought this would be a great multi-use Balm! However the Balm is just no good at all. I tried it on my lips and dry skin spots for about 2 months straight and I noticed no moisturization at all, if anything it made my skin drier! I also tried it with Mineral Eyeshadow patted on top to make my own lip colours, which also didn't work as the balm pretty much comes straight off. Very, very disappointing. It eventually just ended up gathering dust in my makeup drawers until eventually I got sick of the sight of it and threw it away.

REPURCHASE?: Definitely not. It does absolutely nothing. I'd purchase a Nivea Lip Butter instead!

3.0 out of 5 stars High Coverage but Cakey, 11 Nov 2013
This is an bargain and a really good product for beginners! Here's my review below...

PACKAGING: The packaging is matte black with just the Fraulein38 logo and product ingredients on the back. The box feels quite flimsy but it is actually quite durable. I've travelled with it repeatedly without problems! The amount of product you get in each pan is a lot as well!

PRODUCT/CONSISTENSY: The first 4 colours are correcters/highlighters (in silver/white, pink/lilac, mint green and yellow) and the rest of the palette is a brilliant colour range of Concealers! The Concealers are high coverage but are very cakey. I have even tried applying these in small amounts with my fingers and also with a brush and the finish is still very thick and cakey, that is where the palette lets itself down. I'm glad I didn't pay any more than I did for it as I don't really get much use out of it due to the finish it gives on my combination skin. I do however like contouring with this Palette!

REPURCHASE?: Probably not for personal use but definitely for doing makeup for other people or for doing theatrical-style makeup.

3.0 out of 5 stars Better... But Not By Much, 10 Nov 2013
Okay, right off the bat, I Hated August Underground. I hate it with a passion. It's pointless, not shocking, badly acted and an even worse storyline (and not bad in a good way). Being a sick film fan, AU so far did nothing for me so I was hoping Mordum was going to be much, much better. And it is better than the first AU, but not by much at all! In AUM we meet Peter again, but this time he lives with his girlfriend Crusty. Before we all go "awwwww" I must point out that Crusty also has her Brother living with them called Maggot... who's also her lover. Maggot is the one saving grace of this movie. He is the only character that acts really well, is horrific to watch and I would recommend the Movie based on his acting and terrifying character. At the beginning of the movie we see Peter catching Maggot and Crusty doing the no pants dance and what does Peter do about it after much threat at them from the other side of the door?! Nothing, that's what. He even gets friskay when Crusty starts throwing stuff at him and cutting herself up. It seems the love triangle has been temporarily forgotten and all is well in the AU House so the 3 Killers go to a drug den where they kill one of the guys living there (and guess what?! We don't see it... We get to see what he had for dinner instead. Yawn). Then, like the first AU, nothing much really happens. They go to gigs, they hang around their town, then there are a few "shocking" (I'd say more tacky) scenes where they rape and torture a Woman and her Husband. The only scene I struggled with is a paticular scene where Crusty is puking on 2 chicks and Maggot rapes the disemboweled stomach of one of the chicks. Oh and the end scene with Maggot, but you'll just have to see that to see what I mean. Again, no real plot except for the love triangle between the 3, no real story improvement, bad acting except for Maggot, slightly more gore but still a pointless endeavour.

1.0 out of 5 stars Zzzzzz...., 10 Nov 2013
I was SO excited to see August Underground, especially when I recieved it and the cover boasts 'the sickest film ever made?'... No. Basically this is the first film in 3 where we meet Peter, who is a serial killer and he's being filmed by an unknown and never revealed cameraman who also likes to divulge in the same, ahem, activities as Peter does. That is literally it. They go to a gig, they mess around in their local town... aaaand that's it. There's pretty much no story (except for Peter being a serial killer who wierdly leaves a lot of victims alive... I don't understand where Vogel was trying to go with that) and no Plot, not much gore at all considering this is marketed as pseudo snuff and even when there is gore the camera is turned away to a wall or the floor... what is the point?! Also, no torture, and not just in this AU, in all 3! Is Fred Vogel being serious?! I hated this, would not recommend to anyone who is wanting to watch something shocking and gory. Avoid!

5.0 out of 5 stars My New Essential Palette!, 4 Oct 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Reading the mixed reviews on this, I was a little bit unsure of what to expect of this Palette. But with the price, I thought it was worth the risk. Here's what I thought...

PACKAGING: This Palette has 28 (yes, 28!!) Colours of Blush. The Blushes are a really good size as well! The packaging itself to be honest feels quite flimsy, I am quite nervous about travelling with this. The Palette clasps shut and the inside that holds the individual blushes looks like Black Paper coated Cardboard. Quite fragile packaging, but for the price it's still sleek and value for money.

PRODUCT/CONSISTENCY: These blushes are pretty amazing. There is quite a wide range of colours, ranging from very light pinks, to intense hot pinks, corals, oranges and reds. At first glance, some of the colours look the same but I assure you, no two are alike! They all have different undertones, shimmer/matte finishes and depths, which is amazing for a set of Blushes this price. The colours are buttery, very pigmented and easy to blend/build. I would say these colours as suitable for all skin tones.

REPURCHASE: I am definitely going to repurchase this once I've finished it (which will definitely take some time!) I have used this everyday since I've recieved it and I think it's such amazing value for money! Buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful!, 4 Oct 2013
I bought this not expecting much with it being a Tint as opposed to the regular untinted formula. I actually prefer this tint now!

PACKAGING: The tint is packaged exactly like the regular Balm, in an oval shaped stick, which is great as it means it doesn't roll off tables! It's classic, durable packaging!

PRODUCT/CONSISTENCY: The Tint is a cherry red colour, and smells/tastes exactly like Chocolate Cherries! The tint colour is very similar to Benefits Benetint and is super moisturising. It lasts a long time and dries down to a pretty stain.

REPURCHASE?: Certainly would! I think a tint like this is such good value for money! Highly recommended.

This review is from: A Serbian Film [2010] [DVD] (DVD)
A Serbian Film (Srpski Film... right?!) has officially become one of my Top 5 Movies. For so many reasons, and I'm not usually one for Dramas, but ASF is a drama that won't be appearing midday on Channel 5 anytime soon! Many people have mistaken this film for a Horror, and to be honest, you couldn't be more wrong. Let's set the scene...
Milos is a middle-aged Retired Porn Actor, with a Wife and a Son. Money is getting tighter and tighter, and soon Milos is meeting up with a friend who is still in the Porn Industry. She tells him about a new "Art" Director called Vukmir, who wants Milos to be the star of some of his works for a big sum of Money, the only thing is Milos has to sign up not knowing what type of Movies he will be starring in. Milos asks his Cop brother (who has a very surreal and sick obsession with Milos little family) to do background checks on the people he'll now be doing Adult Films with, and even though Vukmir comes back clean and actually quite academically well-off, chaos ensues and Milos is left wondering if this time, he's in way too deep to ever get out...
I personally loved a Serbian Film; it's thee Drama of all Drama movies! I have watched the Uncut version, and it's extremely well written by Spasojevic, acted perfectly and the overall atmosphere feels tense all way through the Film. I really do think the shocks in this film are focused on way too much by other people and have been very over-emphasised, and I think if you can accept what's happening in the movie, and actually listen to what the Director's saying (and what Spasojevic says about ASF) then you will definitely enjoy this. My personal favourite scene was the Machete scene, and yes that did make me squirm a bit!! Overall it's not that shocking at all, it's just a great film and your Heart will definitely break for Milos and his lovely family. Ignore the negative hype, watch it and make up your own mind. It's an awesome movie, and it deserves to be seen by everyone. Bravo, bravo, bravo!!! Oh, and check this out Uncut if you can.
