It is very good. He hates being there, but he always gets his man, which is what we want of course. All the characters are very watchable.

I haven't read it all yet, but I have always read their books when I was young, and enjoyed them. This is good and interesting, but I sometimes get a bit fed up with all the explanatory notes.

He does these travel things very well. You not only go to the places, but you find out what they're famous for, and get taken into the factories or workrooms or shops, and are shown how everything works. Very interesting. And I love his pink shirts and green jackets. Very colourful.

I like them because they just don't visit a place, but tells what goes on there, and visits factories, and fish markets, and talks to the people involved. It's very interesting. And I love his clothes!! Beryl

It's interesting, but I was slightly suspicious, wondering if it was all true. It seems incredible that all the words are someone's surname.

I wanted to be reminded of all the things he'd done since he started, and there are shots of him as a young man,
and his early work. Very enjoyable.

This review is from: Tracking Marco Polo (Hardcover)
I am a fan of Tim Severin, and have read a number of his books, but when I eventually passed them on, I kept this one. And a fascinating item is that his companion was a young man called Michael Johnson, who turns out to be the father of Boris who was the Lord Mayor of London. Both he and Tim were very young and still at university when they made this adventure.
A very good read.

I have all five series, and I see them again every now and then, because they are fascinating. I especially love Mark Horton, and his enthusiasms. I hope I got the name right, I'm not very good on names. I can definitely recommend them to anyone who is sick of what is on TV these days.
