I've not laughed so hard at a film in years!, 9 May 2013
This movie is sooooo funny! It's hilarious from start to finish. It tells the story of a little boy called John, (Mark Wahlberg), who gets a teddybear for Christmas. He makes a wish that his beloved Ted could be real so they could have real conversations. Lo and behold, the next morning he has a walking, talking Ted! He's so cute and cuddly too! Ted and John remain great friends and Thunder Buddies for life. Things begin to change when John's girlfriend asks John to choose between Ted and her. John asks Ted to move out and sets him up in his own little apartment. This is where it gets very funny. Ted gets a job at a supermarket and is always up to no good. Add a creepy sideline of a sleazy character played as always to perfection by Giovanni Ribisi, who wants Ted for his own. There are misunderstandings and fall outs ahoy as the film progresses. It's absolutely brilliant! I even found myself shedding a tear or two! But hands down this is a fantastic movie with laughs in all the right places. Do yourself a favour and just buy it, if you like Family Guy's humour, this is definitely the film for you!

A great read!, 18 Nov 2012
OK, here goes...I picked this up after a long time having it on the shelf. I bought it when the hype was at it's highest but then heard terrible reviews for it and so delayed reading it until I was describing one of Robin Schone's books to a friend. She told me that if I liked erotica, I should give 50 a go. Well...tie me up and tickle me with a feather! Damn it if the book was actually a real corker! I was so pleasantly surprised that I went out and bought the other 2 books in the trilogy, (50 Shades Darker and 50 Shades Freed), and am happily reading 50 Shades Darker. OK, so the author isn't the most talented writer but the love story more than makes up for any repetativeness. Then there's the amount of sex in it of course...I didn't think it possible to have so much in such a short period of time and still be able to walk properly! But don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, just astounded. My 19 year old son calls this trilogy 'Ladies Pages' as he does for all my previously mentioned Robin Schone books. If you like Ms. Schone's books then you will probably enjoy this, although this is set modern day and Ms. Schone's are Victorian. If you want to read more great erotica that's set modern day, try Lori Foster, but be warned, you'll be very hot under the collar so don't read in public!!! Don't listen to all the hype, pick this up if you want a good love story, forget what the world and his Mrs has to say about this book and make your own decision. Nuff said me thinks...:o)

I actually 'Lolled' while watching this!, 14 Oct 2012
This is such a funny film! I sat glued to it and couldn't look away from the screen. Tom Hardy and Chris Pine are AMAZING in it and soooooooo hilarious. Reese Witherspoon is also on top form as the love interest. This is not your typical rom/com. It has a little bit of everything for guys and girls alike. You almost forget there's a back story too which goes to show you how well the threesome's story gels. There are alternative endings if you're not happy with the outcome of the film. Each is just as good as the others. My only disappointment was there's no blooper reel, I'd have loved to see how these 3 got on while filming. It looks as though they all had a blast. Not too much thinking required for this film, but it does manage to keep you guessing who will be the victor. Well it kept me guessing anyway! Put the dvd in, sit back and be prepared to laugh your socks off. FANTASTIC STUFF!!!

Awesome!, 12 Aug 2012

This was one of the first hidden object adventure games that I bought and I'm so glad I did. The graphics are quite beautiful and the music is great too. It's choc full of little puzzles to keep you interested in playing. So many in fact that I've completed this game several times and yet still forget where things are and what to do next. There are all sorts of wonderful things on offer here, from hidden object scenes to brain teasers that'll have you perplexed time and time again! If you like the story of the Phantom Of The Opera, you won't be disappointed with this game...Gaston Leroux would be proud!

Edgar Allen Poe...Poet and Hunter of killer!, 11 Aug 2012
I watched this last night expecting it to be fantastic, it wasn't. It had all the right ingredients to be a great film but was sadly lacking that special oomph factor for me. I'm disappointed because I love John Cusack, even though he portrayed his character very well. It's a murder mystery, there's a serial killer on the loose who is re-enacting Poe's murderous stories. Poe himself is pretty much washed up as a writer and is at first a suspect. But then he becomes pivotal in finding the killer before he strikes again, working alongside the police. I don't want to spoil it for you though, I recommend watching it even though I have only given it 4 stars, for it is a good film, It was just slightly too slow for my liking. But the atmosphere was very good, very Victorian. All in all I enjoyed it but it will probably be quite a while before I watch it again. I hope you find it more enjoyable.

Based on true events, 27 July 2012
Well I love Rachel McAdams and so I knew I'd like this film, Channing Tatum was just an added bonus as far as I was concerned! Based on true events, this tells the story of Leo and Paige who are happily married and madly in love with each other. That is until one snowy night when they are involved in a car accident and Paige loses all memory of Leo. She awakens from her medically induced coma only to believe that Leo is her doctor. What ensues is heartbreakingly portrayed by the pair. Does Leo attempt to woo Paige again in the hope that she will remember him and thus fall madly in love with him again? Does Paige put all her trust in a man whom she doesn't even know? You will have to watch the film to find out! Sam Neill and Jessica Lange are Paige's parents and are not impressed with Leo at all, so you have the added drama of them trying to get Paige to come home with them...does she go? Watch the movie! The film is remarkable, and extremely romantic. It's not your typical rom/com though, it's more of a drama. Well worth the watch. If you enjoyed The Notebook you will love this. A nice touch was at the end of the film, you get to find out what happened in real life to Leo and Paige. All together now...Ahhhhh

Absolutely hilarious!, 26 Jan 2012
I've watched this film a few times now and it still has me laughing out loud just as much as the first time I saw it. Trust me when I say that it's hilarious from start finish. It's the story of Mike and Scarlett, high school sweethearts who have to deal with teenage pregnancy and who marry early in life. Mike gives up a scholarship to college playing basketball to provide for his new family. Skip 20 years into the future and we find the couple going through a divorce, although Mike doesn't want it. Matthew Perry plays the older Mike and you really feel for his character. One day he finds himself wandering the halls of his old school and talking to a mysterious janitor, wishing he could have his life over again so he could do things differently. A fall from a bridge later and he finds himself '17 again'. With the help from his nerdy friend Ned, (expertly played as always by Thomas Lennon), he decides to go back to high school and change his life for the better. Ned enrols the now named 'Mark' at school and acts as his father. Ned needs to have a film of his own because he's so funny. There's a sideline story of Ned's attempts to woo the principal which are to die for. Anyway, the story progresses as you expect it to, Mike finding out a few home thruths about himself and his now teenage kids, but the fact that it's predictable doesn't detract from the fact that it's a real hoot. If you enjoyed 'Big' you'll love this. It's even funnier and it's a geeks dream come true spotting all the memorabilia that Ned's collected. Do yourselves a favour and just buy it, you won't regret it! I'm not a huge fan of Zac Efron but he was brilliant in this role.

A real feel good movie, 24 Jan 2012
I watched this the other night in utter bliss. There's absolutely nothing in it to make you have to think or feel bad about anything. It's just pure romance and laughter as a rom com should be. It tells the story of Elizabeth, a doctor in a very busy hospital, who while on her way home one night is involved in a car crash. The next thing we know is that the loveable David has moved into her apartment and she is walking through tables and is unable to pick things up! David is convinced that he's either hallucinating or that she's a ghost! Enter Jon Heder as a spiritual reader of sorts for a few extra laughs. This is quite simply lovely, sweet and very predictable, but who cares when it leaves you feeling this happy? I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be watching it again and again. I'd recommend this movie if you like rom coms in general but especially if you liked films like Bridgette Jones or Love Actually.

More blood and guts galore!, 18 Jan 2012
I watched this with great anticipation last night as my daughter had seen it and said she was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. We sat glued to it, as did my 18 year old son, and as sick as it is, I thoroughly enjoyed it! It's got plenty of blood spurts and splatters for the gore fan aswell as quite a good story line. I won't go into the plot as many before me have already done so, but let me say that it's quite a ride! Rebecca De Mornay is outstanding and is on her 'Hand That Rocks The Cradle' maniac form. If you enjoyed her in that movie, you'll love her in this one! If you enjoyed The Last House On The Left, you should get something out of this one too.

Not enough publicity for such a great film!, 21 Oct 2011
This movie is AWESOME! It's a funny take on the 'hillbilly vs college kids in the middle of the woods massacre', but with a twist. What unfolds here is simply a series of accidents and misunderstandings between the two groups. What if the hillbillys are actually nice guys, and what if the college kid is a bit of a psycho? There's gore and blood aplenty for all horror buffs, but enough laugh out loud moments to keep you watching right up until the credits roll. This is a film that I really didn't want to end. I had never heard of it before I saw it on the shelf but thought I'd give it a go and boy am I glad I did! This is a real gem that's apt to be played over and over again. Give it a go and laugh yourself silly, I know I did!
