3.0 out of 5 stars Monitor great but sensor pad possibly unreliable, 18 Mar. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Used the sensor pad in the moses basket initially (though I don't think you are supposed to). Found it reassuring that movement was being monitored so it helped me sleep well. However, one day it started going off in the night which nearly gave us a heart attack. Started doing this quite frequently which was quite alarming. Baby seemed to be ok each time though. In the end we had to stop using it because of all the false alarms. Because we had used it for so long, we had become quite dependent on it, so suddenly not using it anymore made me quite panicky. Wished we had never used the sensor pad...even when baby transferred to a cot bed, it didn't work properly. However, the monitor itself is great. The 2-way talk system is useful if one of you is upstairs with baby and your partner is downstairs and you want a drink making/bringing up to the room whilst you're stuck feeding baby! The thermometer is also useful, as is the night light. Need to keep it charged on the base unit frequently though otherwise the battery runs low.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good value for money, 18 Mar. 2013

Nice large mirror to enable a good view of baby. Obviously you have to be careful you don't get distracted by looking at baby too much whilst driving, but it's reassuring to have it, especially in those early weeks after they've been born and they're quiet in the car. Nice to be able to see if they're sleeping/look ok. Shame it doesn't come with a soft light for use whilst driving at night.

3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work well on prams without hoods, 18 Mar. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
We bought a cheap stroller for holiday abroad that didn't have a hood. Bought this to attach to it for some shade on holiday. It didn't work very well, but we managed to attach it somehow so that our baby was in the shade. In hindsight, should have bought a slightly more expensive stroller with a hood, this product would then have worked better. Will still be happy to use this product on our more expensive buggie with a hood when/if the sun ever shines in this county again, as the hoods never seem to provide enough shade to cover the legs. This product would therefore work ok as an extension to an existing hood.

Clevamama Full Length Bath Mat with Kneeling Cushion (Blue)

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice long bath mat., 18 Mar. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought out of necessity as our baby kept wanting to stand up in the bath but kept slipping and hurting herself. This mat is long enough to cover the whole length of our bath (except the plughole), though we do have a slightly shorter than average bath. Other reviews mention mould/mildew formation...we have had the mat for several months now and it is still in excellent condition. I think this is because I always rinse the mat after every bath time and dry it off with an old flannel, then hang it over the shower curtain pole to fully air dry overnight. Might sound like a faff, bit it only takes a couple of minutes and it keeps it looking nice & clean. Even if it starts to look tired in another few months, I'd still be happy to buy another one. The kneeling mat is also nice, especially on tiled floors.

Peekaboo Jack in the Box
Peekaboo Jack in the Box

5.0 out of 5 stars Great 'jack in a box', 18 Mar. 2013

This review is from: Peekaboo Jack in the Box (Toy)
Bought for xmas for 12m old. She was initially scared of it, but now loves it. She has learned to anticipate when the monkey will pop up when I sing the song with her. As another review states, it is nice that the monkey pops up on the word 'pop' in the song. Only minor downside is that our baby has discovered how to get the monkey out of the box without turning the handle. She's still too young to have worked out how to turn the handle, and still needs help pushing the monkey back in the box as it's quite tricky to do. That aside, I think she will enjoy this toy for many years to come.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Pictures, 18 Mar. 2013

This review is from: Orchard Toys Flashcards (Toy)
Nice large cards. We are using them with our 15m old and she can identify most of the pictures by name if we ask her to. So although it is supposed to be used with older children, it is still a useful aid to learning the names of objects from an early age. It's just a shame the cards are a little flimsy as our baby wants to pick them up, but ends up bending them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Shape Sorter, 18 Mar. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Good quality, sturdy shape sorter. As another review mentions, you can only fit the correct shape in the correct hole, unlike other shape sorters I've seen where any shape will fit in any hole! Nice bright colours. The fact it has a key to lock the door is great as it makes it difficult for our baby to cheat (she has another shape sorter in the form of a cookie jar and cheats by just taking the lid off and putting the shapes in the top rather than through the correct holes!). The colours of the shapes also co-ordinate with the colour of the hole so you can also teach colours and shapes. Thankfully there are no distracting noises and lights on this, so baby can focus on the task of matching shapes/colours.
