5.0 out of 5 stars A feel-good read for any time of the year, 26 Feb. 2014

I knew from the very first page I was going to love this book. The writing was warm and Beach cafe owner, Evie, was immediately likeable. I loved the Cornish setting and getting to know an array of characters. A great little read for Christmas, or any other time of the year.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Window into a Wild World!, 25 Feb. 2014

A great little read and a window into the wild - and sometimes wacky - world of being a rockstar roadie. MacIntosh writes with warmth and pizazz, creating a hilarious array of vivid characters. You can't help but warm to loyal Nicole. For me hot and helpful Troy was a little too good to be true at times, but provided a great contrast to selfish, yet lovable Dylan. Huge fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Touch of Class, 20 Feb. 2014

Thanks to the beautiful setting and quality of writing, Croft brings a touch of class to the erotic genre. Lauren is a likeable character from the start and the reader can't help but fall in love with arrogant, repressed but vulnerable Alexander. Croft writes sex in a distinctive style, without the cringe-factor which is no mean feat. It's a fast-paced read and difficult to put down, with a great cliff-hanger ending. Bravo!

4.0 out of 5 stars A challenging, enjoyable read!, 16 Feb. 2014

The book Soul Taken does not belong to my usual genre - I do read paranormal romance but normally it has to involve werewolves or vampires to attract my attention! However, it was good to read a book that stretched me in terms of following the afterlife plot and different characters. The story is very original, pacy and well-written. The dialogue is snappy and realistic. Right from the start I loved Maggie, the main character, and rooted for her. It is a young adult novel but a degree of maturity comes across which makes it a great read for full-fledged adults too. And what an intriguing cover!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great short read, 9 Feb. 2014

A fast-paced story that grabs you from the first page. Who can blame Annabel for taking advantage of her weightloss to get the man of the dreams? Except that things don't quite turn out as she expected. The twist was a bit too much out of the blue for me, but nevertheless a huge surprise and one that gave a satisfying end to the story. Great writing and a loveable main character. Very enjoyable!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Read!, 4 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a great feel-good story that smacks you with the main plotline in the very first pages - Anna discovers that her fiance, Ed, has been cheating on her with her best friend Sophie. What will she do? From the off I warmed to Anna and hoped, from the beginning, that one way or another, she would have her happy ending. This meant I could hardly put the book down.
The story contains an interesting array of characters, from mysterious "Dave" to funny Neil and the seaside setting was very appealing. What I particularly liked was that the author kept me guessing right until the very last pages, which of her three potential suitors Anna would choose. A wonderful read!

5.0 out of 5 stars A delightful family-orientated read!, 2 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I hadn't read the novel preceding this story but that certainly didn't matter for me. Quickly i got to know the characters, including riotous Lily and uptight Diana. What a sweet, short read which I found very entertaining, despite the fact Christmas is now long-gone. It portrayed how strong family bonds rise above differences in personality. Perhaps there will be another book in this series - maybe a double wedding for Emma and Diana?!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun and fast-paced!, 2 Feb. 2014

Loved the line-up in this fun, light-hearted story, especially hot Rhys, loving Cherie and disastrous Dominic! Striking Natalie's outlandish spending and uncontrolled credit card habit are both called into touch when Rhys takes charge of her grandfather's department store, and a romantic relationship with countless peaks and troughs ensues. The writing is sharp and funny and the book is a great read for Sophie Kinsella's Shopoholic fans. The intertwining sub-plots keep your attention and the conclusion is everything the reader wants. A satisfying read!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great characters!, 2 Feb. 2014
A very enjoyable story with some great characters, especially gorgeous Roxster and the children are adorable! The eventual romance wasn't one I saw coming and I loved seeing how Bridget coped through adversity. Of course, Mark Darcy was sorely missed and at times the Twitter formatting was distracting, but it was nevertheless an entertaining read. Roll on Bridget Jones 3 the movie!
