5.0 out of 5 stars Stanley the Manley, 5 Feb 2012
I've bought all the compilations bob stanley has been part of,and quite simply, they're all 5 stars. This particular collection, along with 'the trip',are the best of a brilliant bunch.

5.0 out of 5 stars where do the girls of summer go?, 25 May 2011
anybody remotely interested in californian pop music between 65-70 would go far wrong if they did'nt buy this now. an amazing album, self written for the most part, and one i really was'nt sure of purchasing, but am so glad i did. well pleased to give this 5stars as it is well worth it. always good to have extra tracks!

Box Of Surprises
Box Of Surprises

4.0 out of 5 stars one big gal!, 25 May 2011
This review is from: Box Of Surprises (Audio CD)
on this, dana's second album, she teamed up with savoy brown and came out with a more concise album which she herself prefers to her first,'foolish seasons'. im a bit more interested in 60's pop than i am the blues boom, which along with eastern influences is the musical basis of this album. includes extra tracks, oddly from around the time of 'seasons',which give the album tracks a run for their money.

5.0 out of 5 stars one big gal!, 25 May 2011
This review is from: Foolish Seasons (Audio CD)
dana gillespie's first solo album is nothing short of brilliant. i've done reviews before in which i said rev-ola's fem reissues are patchy, and this is why. so far,one of my favourite reissues released by rev-ola. any fans of bright and inventive 60's pop would do well to buy this album. worth every star.

unrivalled footage of brisca f1 stock cars. other than the weekly repeats, this is essential for any fans of britain's best kept sporting secret.

5.0 out of 5 stars wow, 25 May 2011
This review is from: Glass Top Coffin (Audio CD)
i'd heard elsewhere that this album was'nt a patch on rameses' first,'space hymns'. wrong, and quite the opposite! the first is brilliant, but this is an altogether more thought out affair. a top class album, and an extremely rewarding listen, nay, trip! it's only a shame ramases is'nt alive to see this album's reviews. heavy, but not in a rock way,in a purely dense way.

5.0 out of 5 stars spot on, 25 May 2011
clear spot is,without doubt,my favourite beefheart album. although it is'nt as heavy as 'trout mask',or as commercial as 'bluejeans'(which i also love),it sits perfectly in the middle. a standout album in rock. the fact that you get the equally compelling spotlight kid makes this essential listening. a six star collection!

The Who Sell Out
The Who Sell Out

5.0 out of 5 stars the who sell out, 25 May 2011
This review is from: The Who Sell Out (Audio CD)
the who 'sell out' is,for me,their stand alone piece. this set includes plenty of bonus tracks that never appeared on the original, and is a much more cohesive album for it. probably the who's most experimental album, due to it's slightly psychedelic nature,if not in concept then in 'sounds'. as essential in any 1960's collection as can be. well worth the time and price.
