4.0 out of 5 stars A Classic Work, 11 Dec. 2011
This review is from: Rediscovering Birth (Paperback)
Sheila Kitzinger's perspective as a social anthropologist is a refreshing direction from which to approach birth in our society. She places what we do now in a world context and this is fascinating. This is a very readable book that really opens your eyes to things that we take for granted in our society.

4.0 out of 5 stars Encouraging and Informative, 11 Dec. 2011
This book is full of encouraging stories and practical advice. Very useful for an expectant homebirth dad who in our hospital centred society may not have many opportunities to share information that is specifically about the father's end of things.

4.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful present for a yoga teacher!, 11 Dec. 2011
This is a lovely book - beautiful cover and artistic line drawings. The descriptions of the poses are like poems and the langauge is very descriptive. If you were a yoga teacher and wanted to improve your descriptions of the poses for your class this book would be a great resource. It would work better really as an audio cd or as the spoken text for a dvd that demonstrates the poses. I very much enjoyed this book and it gives the flavour of Sabatini's style of yoga very well.

This is also a great book for anyone working with new mothers who wants a deeper understanding of breastfeeding. Ina May has a very wide experience and is also very well read and compassionate.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read, 11 Dec. 2011
This review is from: Birth without Violence (Paperback)
This is an empassioned plea to us all to value and understand the third stage of labour. A very emotional read that stirs many feelings as so many of us have not had the priviledge of a physiological third stage.
