5.0 out of 5 stars You can't help but smile every time you read this book., 17 Mar 2001
The Shopping Basket is a well written, humourous and intelligently written book, that a child can't help but return to time and time again to read with amusement awe and admiration for a fellow peer.
Steven is asked to run a simple errand by his mother. It invloves a trip to the local corner shop but on the way home... Steven meets a rich and varied range of animals demanding his shopping with menaces. After cunningly dealing with each animal in turn, he arrives home, but where his efforts appreciated?

2.0 out of 5 stars A typical day with a childminder., 11 Mar 2001
I was not inammoured with this story. It lacks excitment, wit and interest. The only saving grace of this book is the beautiful 1950's / 60's illustrations with an attention to detail.
Helpers is a story about a typical day with the childminder. It takes you through an array of activites that any pre-school child can identify with.
The real story however, lies in the pictures rather than the lack lustre text.

5.0 out of 5 stars An extraordinary act of sisterly kindness., 2 Mar 2001
Dogger is a well written, beautifully illustrated heart warming story. It is about a little boy's old, worn and much loved cuddly toy dog and an extraordinary act of sisterly kindness. It recounts an experience that is bound to strike a chord with young children and adults alike who once had that special toy that went everywhere.
