Where the Heart Lies (Beach View Boarding House)
Where the Heart Lies (Beach View Boarding House)
by Ellie Dean
Edition: Paperback
Price: £6.99

3.0 out of 5 stars Not my favorite book in Cliffehaven series, 7 Jun. 2014
Nurse and Midwife Julie Harris works in London's East End when a raid kills her parents and her sister Franny dies giving birth to her son William. With nothing left Julie and William head to Cliffehaven and to older sister Eileen, who less than pleased to her family. Soon Julie and William find themselves at the Beach View and in warm and loving care of the Reilly family. But in war nothing is forever.
"Where the Heart Lies" is the fourth book in the "Cliffehaven" series by Ellie Dean and I have to say it has been the less favorite book in the series. I just felt that ending didn't have the same emotional punch as the other books in the series.

Thrown for a Curve (Perfect Fit Novels)
Thrown for a Curve (Perfect Fit Novels)
by Sugar Jamison
Edition: Mass Market Paperback
Price: £7.99

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the first book, 1 Jun. 2014
Charlotte (Cherri) Rudy spends her time looking after her grandmother and working at a plus size store. Colin O'Connell own his business furniture restoration shop. Colin is about twenty years old than Cherri but soon they are involved and after a while they found out that they are going to be parents. Soon Colin and Cherri are married and they trying build a family together while trying to deal with Colin's father, a man who slept with one of his former girlfriend and Serena one of Colin's ex-girlfriend who does not seems to understand that they are done.
I really want to enjoy "Thrown for a Curve: A Perfect Fit Novel" by Sugar Jamison. But it was just not as good as the first book in the series. I can't pinpoint what is was about this book but it just seem to be lacking the spark of the first book.

After the fall of Paris, the family makes to London where Pearl becomes a member of the Special Operations Executive (SOE) and is parachuted back into France where she becomes the only woman who runs a network.
"She Landed by Moonlight: The Story of Secret Agent Pearl Witherington" by Carole Seymour-Jones was a good book telling a story a young woman who passion for her country would lead her to fight for her country. This was a good book and a great story about one woman's fight.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not good and a waste of your time, 15 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Annie Manon is living the hard life Northumbrian after the first World War. But Annie want a better life but getting that life will be hard. I have to say that I only got through about "After the Storm" by Margaret Graham before I gave up. This book was plain boring and I could make myself to read anymore. Some may have liked or even loved this book, but I was not one of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Excellent Book, 11 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Survivor (Belle 3) (Hardcover)
Mariette Carrera is the daughter of Belle and Etienne. After putting her reputation in her small New Zealand town in danger. Belle and Etienne decided to send her to England. Mari starts to enjoy her time there but soon war is declared and Mari is stuck for the duration of the war. The war continues and the losses mounts Mari grows up and become the woman that she has always meant to be.
"Survivor" by Lesley Pearse is the best book in the "Belle" series. I really loved the character and the book itself so much that I finished it in three days. While you don't need to read the first two books in the series it does help. I can't wait to read more books by Ms. Pearse.

3.0 out of 5 stars It is a okay book but may not be for everyone, 26 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
When the war comes home sister Audrey and Sylvia Whitehouse decide to their part to help win the war. Audrey joins the WWAF and Sylvia decides to come a railway porter, much to her fiancé Ian's dismay. The new career allows Whitehouse sisters to meet new people some who may bring heartache to them and some who may change their lives forever.
I thought that "Meet Me Under the Clock" by Annie Murray was okay if a long book, But I have to say that one of the main storylines in the book may not be for everyone, but overall I liked the book.

3.0 out of 5 stars It was okay but not as good as I hoped, 26 April 2014
This review is from: Belle (Belle 1) (Paperback)
Belle Cooper has spent her whole living in the basement of her mother's brothel. After witnessing a murder, Belle finds herself in Paris and then New Orleans working in a house. But Belle was not be defeated, as she struggles to get back to those she love. In England her sweetheart Jimmy and her closest friend Mog never lose hope in seeing Belle again.
"Belle" by Lesley Pearse was an okay book but I have admit that it was not as good as hope. There were times that Belle just made me flat out angry with the choice that she made. I am hoping the follow up books "The Promise" and "Survivor" are better.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as I hoped, 15 April 2014

This review is from: Time to Say Goodbye (Hardcover)
Imogen, Debby and Rita are three young girls that are in need of a place to stay when they come to the country. They are in luck when they are taken in by "Auntie" and her niece Jill who own and run a local pub. For a while life is good but soon the stress of the war and personal issues begin to take there and soon the girls go off in different directions. But may be a reunion 15 years after the war ends is just what they all need.
"Time to Say Goodbye" Katie Flynn was an okay book. I have to admit to me it was not one of her better books. For some reason I just could not connect to any of the characters and I found myself struggling to finish the book. Overall "Time to Say Goodbye" was an okay book but not one of Ms. Flynn's better ones.

If is the final year Helen, Dora and Millie at the Nighingale Hospital and it is year of change for them. They are going to face the biggest challenges yet. Some of the changes were will be professional but many will be personal and some of them may not be same again.
"The Nightingale Nurse" by Donna Douglas is the third book in the series and it was very good. As always Ms. Douglas give the reader greater characters and a great storyline. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
