5.0 out of 5 stars Playing with words, 21 Jan 2012
Having studied latin and greek and several modern languages I'm fascinated by the way they develope and the way they borrow each other's vocabulary. Knowing or discovering the etymology of one word very often helps in recognising and understanding the meaning of other words with which one may be unfamiliar but which share the same origin as the original. All this may sound pretty dry but Mark Forsyth, author of Etymologicon brings it all to life in a fascinating and entertaining way.

5.0 out of 5 stars shear satisfaction, 30 May 2010
Very nice shears: quite light, well balanced, good cutting; they look as though they will last; everything as it should be.

5.0 out of 5 stars Small binos make big picture, 8 Dec 2009
Ideal for birdwatching, theatre, sailing or whatever turns you on, the Olympus 10 x 21 DPC I Silver Binocular are genuine pocket binoculars. The image is clear and bright, focussing is easy and the 10x magnification allows you to see detail without picture-shake. Highly recommended.
