4.0 out of 5 stars The Keepers -Worth Reading, 2 Jan 2014

A slightly formulaic book but has a couple of interesting ideas and you continue reading to see what develops. I will be reading the next in the series.

Saami Mens Ski and Snowboard Jacket (RRP 319.99)

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what i needed., 27 Nov 2012

I got the Saami Jacket out of curiosity and need - could it be as good as described for the price? and i couldn't afford anything more expensive, so i thought i'd risk it - I need a decent jacket for the upcoming season. So it arrived and the quality was good and it fit well - i chose the XL as i'm 6'4" and it fit well. Everything worked, zips, pockets etc and felt good so i went to the indoor ski center in Glasgow to give it a try.

I stayed warm i got warm enough to use the "pit zips" to cool down. The jacket allowed freedom of movement on the board and when i fell, i stayed warm and dry. Then I deliberately went out in the heavy rain to see how it coped and the water ran off of it and I stayed dry and warm. I'm looking forward to it when i go skiing at Christmas and i'll update this then.

All in all, so far this jacket has lived up to its billing and is just what i needed, at the price i needed it.

Lion's Heart
Lion's Heart
by Karen Wehrstein
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is a must! I couldn't put it down., 10 April 2002
This review is from: Lion's Heart (Paperback)
Chevenga is born into the ruling family, but nothing is certain in this world. He must prove his worth to himself and his people through trials and tests of character. These lead to him leading his peoples armies and being an envoy to a neigbouring empire. Here it all goes wrong and Chevanga is made to serve as a gladiator, where he meets his love. However things just continue to go from bad to worse as Chevanga is forced to kill his friends and countrymen in the arena. This hurts but does not cow this warrior and he plans escape.
This book is well written and takes you to the world. You are drawn into the character of Chevanga as he grows up and endures and triumphs, and as it all goes wrong you wish for him to overcome the odds. This book is a must and leaves you wanting to read the follow up.
